Now we have all heard about the ‘random weapon drops’ in multiplayer, it was in most of the press releases recently. Now we have all been expecting the worst, but after recent clarification from Frankie that there will be a system for the drops (i don’t have the link but there are a couple of threads at the moment explaining it) i have been thinking how this may work. I think that instead of a spawn point it will work like a spawn cycle, at the beginning a sniper spawns in location A, 3 minutes later it spawns in location B, and then 3 mins later in Location C. I think that these location DO NOT CHANGE between games, so you can still time and get the power weapons if you know the map. It will take even more skill to learn not only the spawn time and locations, but the order that they drop in. This is why i think that they have an indicator for the new weapon spawns, it’s hard enough for a new player to learn spawn times and locations, let alone multiple areas and their order. An experienced player will be able to get the sniper first every time. This is what i think they mean by preventing players camping the weapon spawns, you will no longer be able to pick up sniper, say on hemorrhage, snipe some people, then swap the weapon out and pick up the next one.
This would actually be a better system in my opinion, meaning that players will have to move around the map more, and means it will take even more skill to hold the power weapons. The reason i think the articles called it random is because having only played a couple of games, and playing 2 different maps as well, they would not be able to pick up on any system and may well believe it to be completely random. Of course I’m probably wrong, but hopefully not. What do you think, would you be happy if it was my way, or is that still not good enough?
