I remember watching this YouTube video of someone playing multiplayer and he made a very good point when he was talking about weapon balance.
There are tons of posts on forums that state that x weapon is overpowered, but hardly any of them go into detail on why, or most importantly, provide the necessary proof. Most of the complaints are people who are just simply getting killed by x weapon, which happens to be a weapon that isn’t considered “pro” by the community. Because of this, getting killed by the weapon must mean one of two things: Either you just legitimately got killed by a “noob” weapon, or the weapon is overpowered. Usually the case is the former. People are getting killed by something that isn’t the BR or Sniper Rifle, or whatever else is considered to be a “pro” weapon and they can’t stand the idea of that happening, so they force themselves to believe that the weapon that they’ve just been killed by is overpowered.
Then again, some weapons actually ARE overpowered/underpowered. These things do actually happen. When they do, there are some people that post constructive arguments on the forums and provide proof as to why x weapon is overpowered (usually video proof or statistics that could point towards the weapon being overpowered). Sadly, these threads are in the minority and can be buried quickly, so it’s unlikely that 343i will ever see them.
So what’s the point of this thread? Well, the bottom line is that I’m hoping that 343i will listen more to the constructive posts than the ones that are just mindlessly spamming things like “X WEAPON IS OVERPOWRD NERF PLS”, because most of the time weapons aren’t necessarily overpowered; people just want their favourite weapons to have more of an advantage over the other weapons out there. You can help 343i maintain a balanced game by posting in the constructive threads and keeping them on top, so that they’re easier to see.
