I have been avoiding halo waypoint since the multiplayer released on the 15 because I like to form my own opinions then read others, so forgive me if this has all been said already.
Halo infinite’s gameplay is more than I was hoping for, it’s truly a fun and well made game. The I really enjoy the new weapons they added to the sandbox and same with the equipment. I was worried about the grapple shot when I first heard about it but now find it a nice inclusion into the sandbox.
However there are somethings that I really don’t think were implemented as well as they could have been. For example the leveling system is simply not fun or rewarding. Doing well in a match is still fun but at the end of the game if you didn’t play to your challenges you get nothing for doing well. At least to my experience even if you do play to the challenges you may not get rewarded. I have had several challenges where no matter how many kills I get with x weapon no progress will be made towards the challenge. This needs to be fixed and soon. Even if they don’t add after match exp they should add exp for getting some of the “rare” metals or at the minimum make sure that you actually get progress towards the challenges for doing what the challenge says.
Another thing is the armor and the armor coatings. While I like the idea of having the different armor cores it in the end makes the customization feel even more limited. For example if you like the ODST helmet but you like the look of the mark VII core then you have to pick one or the other not both. Furthermore the color system is the most mind boggling thing I have seen in the game so far. Here in halo infinite there is no red vs blue, at least with armor colors, instead you can express you Spartan with the color you like in every multiplayer game you play. So long that you unlock the armor coating that has colors that you like. Never mind if you have been using the same armor color for 20 years keep your fingers crossed that it’s even an option and cross them harder it’s not one you have to pay for.
In the end I do still enjoy halo infinite I just hope they address these issues soon.
