My thoughts and ideas on movement in Infinite

I want to start this by saying that I enjoy the gameplay of both “classic” Halo and “new” Halo. However, i recognize the flaws in “new” Halo gameplay. As such, I’ve come up with a few ideas for movement abilities in Infinite. The ONLY returning abilities from H5 should be:
Clamber
Slide
Thruster pack
However, each has been modified extensively. Let’s start with slide. With no sprint, sliding is as simple as holding down the crouch button while moving forward at top speed.
Clamber works as it did in H5, with a few modifications: clambering on an edge now gives you the option to hang off the edge, allowing you to peek over the edge or shoot at enemies below you while hanging on with one hand. You should also be able to move from side to side while hanging, and jump off the wall, giving you greater forward momentum than normal jumping.
Thruster pack should be like the Evade ability from Reach. A simple somersault to avoid rockets/grenades/ramming vehicles.
Now, new stuff.
Vaulting. Simple as it sounds, allows you to climb over short barricades without having to jump 10 feet in the air.
Teammate lifting. This is a bit hard to explain, so bear with me. Say you find a ledge you can’t reach, even with clamber. If an ally approaches you, it pops up a prompt to hoist them up, preferably by holding the melee button. An animation plays where you crouch down, and lift them up, allowing them to clamber hang off the ledge. Then, when they look down at you, a prompt appears, allowing them to grab your hand and throw you up onto the ledge.
Also, crawling could make a great addition to Halo.
Simple additions like these could add variety to map design, add more tactical choices for players during combat, keep a sense of being an actual elite supersoldier instead of a plastic power ranger, and allow machinima makers to produce larger scale productions in-game, without having to use an external animation tool. Also, the crawling and ledge hanging in particular could make for some excellent stealth sections in the campaign.

Also 343, if your reading this, Plz bring back dual wielding. Plz.

I want sprint back. But if it won’t return, I suggest make it like DOOM, where you are waking at a really fast pace

No. And no. Lol. Holding on to an edge? You want the gameplay to be insanely slow don’t you?

Feel free to use the advanced movement thread that’s been around for a bit
