My thoughts about halo:CE anniv.

Hello guys, I don’t write posts as much as I am a avid reader from forums. But I have to tell you something about this Halo:CE Anniv. that I am very grateful to contains subtitles for reading conversations from people as I am a hearing impaired person. Since I played the original Halo:CE on my trusty black box (original xbox system) - it didn’t have subtitles back then that was a huge missing part of me to understand the game.

Huge thanks to 343i put the feature on for people who like me or second language like English to help us understand the storyline.

Just wanted to say “thanks”.

Microsoft should force all Xbox games to comply to a common standard to cater for the hearing impaired. I am surprised this hasnt happened already.

I actually really like the in-game subtitles. I’ve read stuff in the subtitles that I’d never noticed before.

Even though my hearing is (mostly) fine, I still play with the subtitles. Mainly because I can never hear what they are saying because they either speak quietly, are muffled out by battlefeild noise, and other things. While reading the dialog online, I see things I never knew they said… so the subtitles in-game really help a lot and make things more interesting now that I can actually know and almost make out what they were saying. Subtitles should definetly be added (optional) in future games.

I thought all games already had the subtitle option? - shooters, rpgs etc.

Anyway i always turn on subtitles anyway. =D.
Sometimes you just miss what they are saying in the cut-scenes.

I may not be hearing impaired. But even for me subtitles are extremely useful and valued in any video game or movie. Often at times it is hard to make out exactly what someone said with all the loud noises and music going on in the background. And I was able to clear up a few lines I wasn’t sure about 10 years ago.
