I don’t think I’ve seen this theory so far because I’m not on the forums so much.

At the end of halo 4 we see chief take off the armor. The escalation blah blah blah everyone knows what happens here.
I believe that when chief was talking to Hood at the end of escalation when he said the didact was contained he overheard something about halsey. Obviously at that point halsey was in custody. I think chief got furious and that is really why he left with blue team maybe to try and free her somehow.
Locke, obviously with ONI finds out about chief. That’s what I think the two ONI agents at the end of escalation were talking about when they said chief had PTSD.
I believe chief will wind up working with the covenant remnant particularly Jul mdama because he has halsey at that point and the Janus key.
Locke is going to be tasked with hunting chief. Obviously as the game says, the outer colonies will be attacked. Locke will encounter chief causing chiefs visor to be cracked. But when chief says in the trailer about something that Locke compromised, what could that be? The Janus key?
Locke will destroy chiefs armor but chief will get away. Chief will flee to the desert place he is in the e3 2013 trailer. Hopefully the ark. Fingers crossed. That is when Locke goes to find the arbiter to see if he can help find the chief. Obviously the bird forerunner thing is unleashed and from there maybe that is the cliffhanger. I couldn’t think of anything else.
