My theory... *SPOILERS*

Alright, if you haven’t finished Spartan Ops yet, do that before reading this and watch the Epilogue…

MOVING ON.

SO! In the beginning of Halo 4, got that cinematic with Halsey talking to a shady character. That shady character sounds a LOT like the Chief. If you’ve read the novels, you know that the Spartans get flash-cloned and then the originals go to the Spartan program while the clones go to the parents. Most of the clones die of messed up diseases or something along those lines.

Well, what if the Chief’s lived? He IS the “lucky one”, no?

I figure he’s one of two things. Either ONI picked him up to do something else in the UNSC… OR (And I find this way cooler) the Chief’s clone is now working for the Rebels and infiltrated Infinity after finding out more about the Spartans, and in particular, the hero of Humanity, John 117. I’d wanna know more about… me. And my “mother” if I was him.

So now, we’ve got Halsey turning on the UNSC, potentially, after losing her arm and such.

WHAT IF… Halsey, now pissed the hell off (And I can’t blame her. She’s gotten a kinda short end of the stick throughout Halo’s history for the things she’s done), leads the Storm Covenant to the Rebels. Already in Halo-canon, the Rebels have worked with the Covenant. Doesn’t go well, but the Covenant know they have a better shot with the Rebels than the UNSC. There’s a WHOLE CRAP LOAD of “Reclaimers” she could convince the Storm to use for Forerunner stuff.

Halsey ends up creating Neo-Spartans for the Rebels, using Covenant and Forerunner technology to do so, telling the Storm and Jul that they’ll fight on their behalf. Jul isn’t one of the Prophets, he’s not quite as anti-human in many ways… I could see him using the Humans as allies, so long as it benefited his religious need to do forerunnery things with forerunner stuff.

So, the Storm led to the Rebels, and Halsey potentially finding the Chief-clone… she creates the Neos, turns them on the Storm, and then goes after the UNSC.

You gotta understand that Halsey has some weird issues with what she’s done to the Spartans. She used to want to save them from the UNSC… now, perhaps, instead she’ll seek to AVENGE them, using their own clone as a leader for the Rebels.

Halsey and clone-Chief. That would be a hell of a team and leadership on the Rebels behalf.

Dunno if this would be a part of Halo 5, or perhaps Spartan Ops Season II… either would work, really… but I just feel strongly that at least PARTS of my theory are on the right track.

What ya’ll think? Am I complete moron, or maybe onto something?

You just went all over the place and lost me several times. Is this thread mean’t to be serious? Not trying to sound like a jerk if it is.

Haven’t slept, so probably kinda all over the place. My bad, lol… but yeah, it’s meant to be serious. Or it was, at least.

I’d say 343 needs to make Season 2 before the fan fictions start.

I think it’s a highly interesting read. I don’t know if I like the idea of Almost Chief but I do like the idea of Halsey wrecking the crap out of the Spartan IVs with some Elite/Forerunner augmented Spartan II.2s.

Sounds good, keep it up.

Also, I don’t know if you ever played KoTOR and know anything about the Star Forge but I can see something like that being used to assist in the production of an army of Halsey’s newest Spartans (since, you know, Jul and Halsey could find it and the UNSC wouldn’t know what it was looking for).

Also, I know that if we do fight Spartans (which I think could be done well) they’d get their own Elite-esque rolls/evades/whatever. 343, do not make some crappy Armour Ability to simulate this for us, the player. Our characteristic Halo strafe is fine.

I don’t really see it happening. The theory looks like a good idea, but Chief’s clone being an antagonist in Season 2 doesn’t really settle well with me for some reason.

All of the clones died.

> I’d say 343 needs to make Season 2 before the fan fictions start.

Speculation counts as fanfic? News to me.

> All of the clones died.

Supposedly. Maybe one didn’t? It’s just an idea.

If the next Forerunner planet-thing is called Lehon… >_>

Makes sense, though. Gotta be a “Factory Planet” out there somewhere.
