Isn’t this leaked?
Not very plausible IMO.
Personally I think that Cortana and Chief saw the Ancient Evil, whatever that may be, and know that if the Infinity leaves then the Ancient Evil can get out of Requiem much easier, and Andrew Del Rino knows that whatever is on this planet is going to put his ship in quite some danger, and doesn’t want to risk his entire crew like that.

I’ve seen a lot of threads about it and so I assumed that it wasn’t leaked content. If it is, my apologies.
your account could be at a risk of a ban if this is leaked content just going to warning you. not to rant just saying

An aging Spartan that saved humanity on more than 3 occasions to you, Andrew Del Rio!
My theory (completely in a nutshell) [possible massive spoilers]: Whatever the “ancient evil” is has been trapped on Requiem for a long time. It and the Didact probably fought against each other for a while and it eventually managed to take over the planet (along with its defensive AI), so–out of desperation–the Didact locked himself away in his cryptum. The “ancient evil” (AE) can only get off of Requiem with the help of a Forerunner (a human might qualify), which would be another good reason why the Didact would shut himself away–to keep the AE trapped. A long time later: the Infinity comes along, the AE wakes up, scans the ship, sees that there are humans aboard, pulls the ship down to Requiem, then orders the planet’s defensive AI to attack, and in the confusion: it hops aboard the Infinity, hoping they’ll unknowingly take it out and off the planet.
The Master Chief and Cortana suspect this is what happened (or maybe the Didact, freshly awakened from his cryptum, suspects it and warns them), and that’s what they’re fighting about in that cutscene. Cortana’s going rampant so she’s ignoring the chain of command and going all dictator.
I’m thinking the AE is going to be a Precursor or another Gravemind. I’m also really starting to think that the “Ur-Didact” (the original Didact) has been taken over by it and is serving as a host. So, this thing has all the knowledge of the Didact but is “unbound” from all the morals he believed in.

This is actually a REALLY good theory, of course it won’t be exact, but I’m willing to bet that the actual game will have a sequence along the lines of this. Props to you, sir!
Could it be possible that the didact chose to turn himself into a monitor, and is controlling the Prometheans. Which would explain why the planet’s defense A.I. will later in the game team up with the covenant and they would both fight humanity.

I agree, this a nice theory, only one thing: The ancient evil can not be a Gravemind, Franke confirmed the Flood not to be in Halo 4. So maybe the AE is really a Precursor? Because I don’t know why someone would call the Didact “evil”.

What Frankie actually said was, “You won’t be fighting Flood in Halo 4.” He seems to choose his words pretty carefully. Remember in Halo 3, when MC goes all the way into the heart of a Flood infestation to get Cortana? He majorly pissed off that Gravemind, but he never actually fought it–not directly. Graveminds don’t fight, they prefer to play chess.

Where did you get that quote from?

Yah, but that entire mission you are fighting flood. So, If there is a gravemind or something still out there it will probably just be in a cutscene.
Good discussion, but unfortunately it’s regarding leaked content.
