My take on the Recruit Armor Confusion.

For those who don’t know, people have been really upset/confused as to the contents and armor you recieve in the Limited Edition of Halo 4. I’m going to try to ease the confusion by giving my knowledge on the situation.

For starters, let’s break up the known differences between the armor and armor skins.

Armor is as it always has been, a customizable option that is unlocked in sets and interchangable between armor peices.

Armor skins are just different sets of armor for the certain armor types like, for example, CIO and CIO-web. CIO is an armor set that is default in the game and can be unlocked to wear anytime. CIO-Web is a different armor set with different areas colored for secondary colors to make a certain pattern, in this case, a spider, and is primarily exclusive to those who preorder the game at Amazon.com.

Recruit is the same thing. It is seperated into two sets of armor, one that is default and most likely already unlocked at the beginning of your Spartan career, and another that has a skin on it that is exclusive to those who purchase the Limited Edition of Halo 4.

In conclusion, Recruit is the default armor, and Recruit-Prime is the armor that is exclusive to those who preordered the Limited Edition.

I hope this helped ease everyone’s confusion and helps everyone have a more broad understanding of their purchase.

Good post. I still think the armor or even another armor should’ve been only for the limited edition though. Saying that, I hope FOTUS remains completely exclusive. It says exclusive armor set. And it didn’t have a skin. So here’s hoping that it turns out like that

good post!

I’m fairly certain that FOTUS is going to remain exclusive to the LE console, that is if 343i doesn’t put it out after release.

FOTUS, along with the Map Pass, Dead Eye, and Locus helmets are the only exclusive armors.

Exactly. Thanks for this post. I hope we can calm the confusion of the Recruit armor and just put an end to these Recruit threads.

I THINK i can speak on behalf of MOST of the LE buyers when i say “I hope your wrong”.

Why? You get one version of Recruit that most others most likely will not get, while people like me who diddn’t preorder the Limited Edition, or diddn’t preorder at all, get the plain old Recruit armor.

Yea I get what your saying, but the skin really doesnt change the armor that much. I mean i could understand if it was like forest skin for the hazop because that one looks drastically different. The whole point is that we just wanted an exclusive armor that regular editions cant get.

Fix’d

I think the reason to why gamers were so confused about this was because that in the early stages of the game the all of the multiplayer Spartans wore the Warrior armor with gold/legendary visor. And everyone thought that that was going to be the default armor for the game. But I guess now that the default armor is going to be the full Recruit armor with blue/recruit visor. But I don’t know why people got upset over what the default armor is going to be. Anyway I’m still looking forward to this game despite all the COD fanboys saying this is “ripping off” some parts of COD.
BTW am I the only one who noticed that the Recruit armor looks VERY similar to the default armor of Reach with the FJ/PARA knee guards?

I’ve never thought about it this way. thank you for opening my eyes

You forgot something.

At least FOTUS is still exclusive. I’m still confused about deadeye and locus though.

Go to Gamestop.com and look at what comes with the game. In the details it says Armor skin, not Armor.
