My take on the Campaign (major spoiler warning)

Okay. Before we begin, I want to say I had “fun”. But it became a task in the late half of the game to get to places.

The campaign had a lot of stuff, yet it feels empty.
-The AI for the marines not being able to drive vehicles is a big big bummer. (Also I JUST NOTICED SCORPIONS ONLY HAVE A GUNNER SEAT?!? WHY!?!)
-Doing the secondary missions almost does nothing. There is literally no reason to do them. Bases, Radios, Saving Marines.
-The Fortresses were underwhelming. All felt the same. And did nothing for me in the end.
-The map also had a lot of free space, meaning I wish there was a bit more.

Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Story:

The story was…. Meh. Let’s start with the big one. Cortana. Listen, this was a very very important Character and there is no justice for her. It felt like a last ditch effort to save her story line by “ending” her. The worse part about it is that it was done off screen. Foolish.

Now overall it was better than both 4 & 5, but again it’s disappointing to see what they did with the story. Like what happened to everyone else? Is Chief now in charge of these UNSC soldiers?

Though some might raise an eyebrow to this question… Banished here… what happened to the Spirit of Fire?

….
I don’t know, I’m just super conflicted on this game. I liked what they were trying to do with MC, but everything else just felt bland.

Some of the unlocks you get make the game infinitely easier. So it does do something, but for the average player who just cruises through on easy or normal its redundant for the rewards aside from the achievments.

Yes you might get weapons, vehicles, and marines, but in the long run you don’t technically need those. Though I assume it would help more with Legendary, as I played of normal because story and exploration.

However I should say, it doesn’t change the world. For example, taking over a base should see it transform into a UNSC base of operations. (Like drastically). Snipers in the towers, commander center all that. And maybe small raids from the banished

It would liven up the world.
