My Subtle Suggestion for Halo Infinite

So I don’t know about you guys but there is one thing that I always notice when I play Halo5 that I wish will be fixed in Halo Infinite. That is the physics behind the rag-dolling of your dead spartan.

Now hear me out lol

I play a lot of SWAT and in Halo 5, headshots seem to crumble my spartan’s body in a compressed mess that’s accompanied by a horrible crunching sound. Obviously, this isn’t a big deal but it incites a similar feeling of being assassinated or beat down from behind. An even gun match should not end in the losing player having their spartan crunched into the ground. However, (!!!) I do love crazy physics. I think Halo Reach nailed this! Sometimes when just casually playing Reach, I root for my spartan to slowly falling off a ledge or into the water while I wait to respawn. But with Halo 5 it feels like my spartan is getting stiff arm through the ground by Master Cheif himself lol
It isn’t a big thing but when facing highly skilled players and having to hear that sound over and over again during tough games makes the situation more frustrating. I guess overall its harder to flip on the “casual” switch when your player violently dies and crunches every single death. Go back to a “lighter” rag doll with more flailing and flying instead of crunching and compressing.

Curious about everyone else’s thoughts, thanks!!

Yeah would honestly love to see some subtle death animations to make it a little less tedious dying but it wouldn’t be a big deal for me anyway if the H5 crunching stays

The enemies in the gameplay trailer seemed to be responding to being shot in different parts of their bodies (reaching around to grab their back when shot from behind).

So this could possibly extend across to multiplayer animations as well?

Otherwise - just learn to die less

Can’t remember which game it was, might’ve been H3, but I’m sure there was an animation where your spartan fell to their knees before falling forward when killed. It could’ve been just in campaign but it would be cool to have you stay in 1st person while you are dying since you end up just looking at your dead spartan for like 7 seconds while you wait to respawn anyway. Why not stay in your spartans body and see everything slowly go blurry and dark your eyes slowly close while you lie on the ground. I dunno how that would work but would be a cool feature.

Woah that would be great to have contextual animations go into multiplayer into that level of detail.
And I’m trying  lol

This could be a sick setting in the menu. Imagine even getting assassinated in a first-person view, that would really make me jump lol

We could have options of death scenes similar to how assassinations work.

You could choose to go out in spaghetti-Western fashion (clutch your chest, grimace, and slowly crumple to the ground, dying swan (lots of dramatic tension), seizing and spasaming, reaching for the light, or agonisingly haemorrhaging from every orifice.

I would micro-transact the Hell out of Shakespearean type death scene.

PS. I’m not being serious.

Yeah just not dying would solve this issue

I’ll keep trying lol
