Well, I’ve been seeing a lot of threads about Halo 2 Anniversary and I decided to put in my 2 cents. Remember though, I will be playing the devil’s advocate and giving supporting details and also things that would be an obstacle.
(The Good :D)
-
(Halo Anniversary Spoiler) Halo CEA had terminals, if you found all of them and typed the end codes into Waypoint it unlocked a final terminal, this terminal Strongly hinted at a Halo 2A and got me excited for sure.
-
Countless fans have been requesting this and 343 are made up of Halo fans themselves, surely this puts that nostalgic feeling in their hearts of Halo 2 memories.
-
Halo 2 is a very logical spin-off after Halo 4 which we have seen in the past to a. increase profit and b. give us something while we wait
(eg. Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars, Halo: reach [Kind of]) -
Halo 2 servers are (probably) not going to see the light of day ever again, so adding to #2, they may feel the nostalgia and want Halo 2 as badly as we do
(The Bad D:< )
-
Halo 2A would be a terrible release game for the next console (Xbox Infinity, Xbox Loop, Xbox 720, etc.) as we are in a new generation of gamers, most have never touched Halo 2 in their lives
-
Halo CEA was the celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the Halo franchise, Halo 2A will most likely (don’t hold me to this) not be released in 2014 (Halo 2’s Anniversary) as that is when I am expecting Halo 5 to be released, so other than that there is no “Anniversary” to celebrate and the start of a franchise is WAY bigger than the start of killing other Spartans (and Elites) online.
-
Halo 2 Anniversary may have been hinted at, but there hasn’t been a whole lot since last year relating to that idea and even then, the final terminal could have just been a cool terminal
(The Ugly :insertyourfacehere:)
-
As a spin-off title, we most likely wouldn’t see Halo 2 multiplayer since they wouldn’t want to break up the community of the current Halo title (hopefully Halo 4)
-
Halo 2 anniversary would most likely take out the glitches we new and loved as they were almost all patched (e.g. sword thrust flying, BXR, etc)
-
It would probably be another $40 title (which isn’t bad) but this does mean we probably wouldn’t see anything but the Campaign (which isn’t the real reason we all want Halo 2A) and we would probably just get DLC (Spartan Ops, War Games, etc)
Well that’s my 2 cents, 2 cents can either be a blessing or a curse (I know I hate change)
