Recently in the shower I thought of something. Jorge is featured much more in Halo Infinite than any other member of NOBLE team. His armor coating is across all three cores. Why would Jorge be featured so heavily if he died? Why wouldn’t Jun have his armor coating instead since last we heard, he is alive. This makes me think that maybe Jorge is alive. After all, he was “killed” in a slipspace explosion. This slipspace explosion was ginormous, which means Jorge could have been left unaffected inside the airtight hanger. In addition, many Kig Yarr just recently became deceased from a head wound. So, Jorge could be floating around ANYWHERE in space, and as we know Master Chief survived (although with newer armor) in space for 6 months. Jorge would be on a war ship in space which has rations for any covenant military, and not to mention his armor. Speaking of armor, it can also save him (assuming the hanger remained safe during the slipspace explosion) for some time. Jorge was also next to a pelican which allowed Echo-216 to survive for quite a long time as well. The only problem with my theory is that Jorge was standing next to a bomb (he had to manually detonate it after all) and he may not have put his helmet back on.
However, If he did survive he could be hanging around in space by Zeta Halo, which would explain the cut cutscene where they see something in space. Jorge would also be a character fans recognize.
And as for the coatings, why was Jorge getting special treatment? Jun could just as easily been on all the cores and it would still make sense. So why Jorge? The other thing is the description for Noble portal, Jorge’s armor coating on Yoroi. It reads, “Arriving in a storm of clashing glass, one strange samurai turned imminent defeat into legendary victory.” This is strange, because if Jorge died, he would have still been in space, unable to turn imminent defeat (Reach) into legendary victory.

This Battle Pass is about Reach in general. So, you see a lot of recycled material from Reach in Infinite.
Jorge committed suicide, because the timing mechanism was messed up on the slipspace bomb. He had no choice, and he wasn’t going to sacrifice Noble Six. Jorge made an executive decision that he believed was going to save his homeworld but ultimately it didn’t. What his sacrificed really did, and what the “legendary victory” actually refers to is the completion of Noble Teams mission of delivering Cortana to the Pillar of Autumn thus allowing Master Chief to continue the fight and defeat the Covenant.
