There seems to be something wrong with my Spartan character when I play Halo 4 multiplayer in Xbox Live. (I play Infinity Slayer & Capture the Flag.)
It seems my Spartan character is very easily killed. It happens so often that I’ve really noticed it. He seems to die after only 2 or 3 shots. And 90% of the time when I’m in a shootout with an enemy Spartan, I lose. Or if the enemy dies, I get killed too.
(And I’ve watched the replays after my guy’s been killed. A lot of times, the shots aren’t even close. Or the enemy Spartan is shooting through a rock or a tree. And still my character died!)
It happens so much that it feels like my Spartan has no armor. Very frustrating! Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way I can upgrade my Spartan’s armor capability so he doesn’t die so easily? (I’m at the SR-130 level).

Maybe the enemy players are just better? I know things can be cheap at times, but I don’t think anything nefarious is at play here besides maybe some lag.

Nothing else to say besides that you shouldn’t trust the kill-cams.
Your spartan’s armor is definitely broken.
You need to get the armor upgrade plate by getting armor mastery commendation. You get that by getting kills after you have broken your shields off your spartan. Throwing a grenade at yourself works good to break your shields. Then just go get kills while your shield is down, and after you do that 3000 times you get the armor mastery commendation, which gives you access to the heavy armor upgrade plate.
The heavy armor upgrade plate thickens your spartan’s armor, and allows the mantis to take 2 shots from the laser while you pilot it.

…Hilarious to some people, I’m sure.
Never trust the killcams. If you want to not die, try using shielding and recharge perks on the armor.
Are you playing solo or with a team? Are you playing from USA or another country?
Generally I try to team up with friends from Australia so the delay of playing online (called latency or commonly referred to as lag) is reduced. If you’re playing from another country you’ll often find the kill cams or replays are quite inaccurate. You’ll also feel like you die quick and your enemies take longer to kill etc.
Go into campaign and throw a grenade then go into war games and throw a grenade…did you notice a delay in your grenade actually coming out in multiplayer? There’s your answer mate.
