We are really loving the World so far. However, we are supremely bummed that we can not play Halo together other than multiplayer which is he obviously a little too young for. Also, we are very quickly running out of things to do, and we were hoping for more side-quests and such by now. Still, he is loving it.
The biggest problem we have, and it might be a bug, but after we rescue the marines and save game, restart, we can not find any marines anywhere. We have checked all the fobs and they are not there. We have rescued; Carrera, Cayman, Boxer but can not find these guys to save our lives so we are just soloing it out there. Please advise.
I’m glad you and your son are both enjoying Halo. It’s always good to hear people enjoying the franchise.
About the marines: Usually the marines that you rescue from dying end up disappearing (or “despawning”) if you close the game or get too far from them, this happens because they are part of a sidequest and once that sidequest has been completed the rescued marines sort of just go away.
What you can do, however, is order a Warthog from anyone of the FOBs that you’ve freed via the podium in the center of the FOB. The marines in the local vicinity will jump in to the car with you, if they don’t jump in the warthog just honk your horn and then they’ll jump in.
Extra things to add:
-I would also recommend buying “The Master Chief Collection” which has almost all of the older Halo games in one collection, and all of the games in the bundle include co-op so you and your son can both play together.
-If your son is young enough to still enjoy cartoons there’s an older Halo “anime” movie, it’s old enough that you can watch it on YouTube completely free, it’s called Halo Legends and I absolutely loved it when I was younger.
I have noticed that marine squads who despawn when you get too far have a chance to reappear for you later if you haven’t turned off the current play session. Obviously marines appear on the road sometimes, but if you’ve de-spawned a squad marines, those “road squads” will have the same weapons as your previous squad .
OP, as you level up your “valor”, more and more marines will start spawning at each FoB. If you open your map and go to the “FoB” tab, you can see your upcoming unlocks
My man just wants to play Halo with his son. Why are you ridiculing him? Infinite is the first campaign that is not only “good” but also rated Teen. I’m sure they will play the others at some point
I’m sorry this game is a dumpster fire of service, i recommend after completing halo Infinite showin him the MCC so he can fully see the entire world. Bungie has a lot more world building and lore added throughout their stories than 343 has ever done. I’m so sorry for this halo title
How am I ridiculing them? MCC is where Halo started… Also at least in MCC you can replay levels without having to start entire new game… MCC also has six different campaigns, plus firefight, and Spartan ops. They are also a bit easier to play since they have more aim assist. Infinite might be rated teen but it’s not like the older games are that bad, odds are if they released today they would probably get a teen rating. It’s not like they are god of war or GTA.
Yes, but his son may be like 8 years old. It could be good for him to be older so that when he plays the glory games, he can fully comprehend the story
That’s so awesome that you introduced your son to the wonderful world of Halo. If he’s like my younger cousins, driving and flying around must be one of the most amazing things to do.
Like you, I’m still bummed that co-op isn’t included yet, because Zeta Halo is begging to be explored by two new players. We still don’t know exactly when it’ll come in season 2, but the Master Chief Collection would be a great sit-in until it releases.
Okay got the MCC for both of installed (bought it for both of our steams a couple years ago), and installing the first ones to start playing. Currently, he is fascinated with the flood and so that should be crazy fun to do all over again with him.
I just got him Halo Legends, should be done soon, a really good version of it too, to play on the home theater for maximum immersion. We are also watching Nightfall again, and Forward unto Dawn which he really enjoys.
Also, got us all the Halo Audiobooks as well to listen to at night at for naptimes
With your advice I think we have a good understanding of how exactly the marines work right now. Hopefully, they will add to it over the next few years and allow us to really use the marines, the potential and foundation is there for some really cool stuff. The game I think has a great foundation. Really hope they get the chance to start putting lots of content into the awesome little sandbox they have built, with our friends and family too ofc. It is so much fun when we get to play together. We had a blast last time we were messing around with mods and stuff in Halo Reach or whatever.
We did have some awesome good fun doing multiplayer stuff and he was able to get a few kills.
