I’ve been debating rather or not to post a thread showing off some of my Halo creations I’ve done in Solid Works.
Render of My Emblem: I tried drawing my emblem that I use so I can have an avatar on some sites, and also for a sig if I ever feel the need.
Battle Rifle with Reflex Sight
Battle Rifle with ACOG Scope & Flash Light
Top, Right, & Bottom View of my Battle Rifle: I designed the BR based off of the Halo 3 specs, and modified the design in some areas, took me a few days, but this is the 2nd time designing the BR from scratch.
WIP Warthog Turret: This is an idea I’ve toyed around with for years, and most time I’ve gotten as far as the barrels, but this time I went all out and did the whole thing.
Halo Metal Floor: A few years ago I drew the smaller metal plate, and then a few months ago around October I went out and found a fan made design, which I copied the best I could, and rendered it to match the other metal plate, and it turned out nice.
343 Guilty Spark: Something I thought would be fun to do.
Halo CEA Logo: I made this for the release of Halo CEA, I posted a thread about it and got a lot of replies on it, every one liked it, even BS Angle.
Decorative Circle Panel: I did this so I could make a display case for some of my Halo action figures I have.
The Marathon Shield: I made this one so I could one day make it in real life, and put it on my wall, maybe even get it signed.
WIP Forerunner Room I designed: This is something I’ve been playing around with, learning some of the rendering tools Solid Works has.
Any and all comments are welcome. If any one has any requests, just remember, it will take me a few days to do it, and if it’s something that’s in game like a weapon, it can’t be in Halo 4.
If you want a wallpaper of one of my works, let me know what size you want, and how you want it to look, and I’ll see what I can do.
Very cool OP. Back in the day, over on Bnet, a user there modeled an entire AR. He sent me the stl file, but I haven’t had the time to print it in my companies 3D printer. We have a Dimension Pro 3D printer that can make models in ABS (a bit more stable and rugged than a SLA or SLS).
If you’d like, I may be able to print some of these. Send me a PM if you like, and I’ll give you my email address.
What version of Solidworks did you use? 2010, 2011? We have Solidworks and Pro/Engineer here. I Use both depending on the project.
I’ve been working on the Reach AR, haven’t done much with it tho, I got the front end and part of the but stock done.
Also, I’m currently using the 2011 edition, Once a Year I buy the latest and greatest copy. And I may take you up on that offer some day, I have a RIS attactment I’ve designed for my airsoft rifle, but I’ve been waiting for a chance to learn how to use the 3D printer at my school. But for now I have my Dad’s C&C Carve Right mill. Also I wouldn’t want to impose too much on you.
No worries. The 3D printer is pretty cool. I use it a lot to build rapid prototypes (I’m a Mechanical Engineer). The technology has come a long way. And? The ABS plastic parts are pretty rugged. If I print anything, I would sneak it in over a weekend, so don’t worry, it will be our little secret. Besides, I would print one out for myself too
I’ll think really hard about it, and if I do decide to let you, you’ll have to print out two of the RIS attachment for me, I want one that I can make a model, and one in case, and if you do that, I’ll most likely throw in my BR design, it’s only 38" from tip to tip.
These are looking especially sweet. I like the glyph one!
> These are looking especially sweet. I like the glyph one!
the Glyph one took me a few days to do, and many tries to get it perfect.
These look great, I’m well used to using soildworks myself but it’s been a few years since I’ve lasted used it for some Uni projects. I may go back and make some models myself.
You did well with capturing the forerunner theme on your forerunner lab, good stuff!

I noticed you spelled “burst” wrong on the fire select. Aside from that little detail, all of these are fantastic

Oops :X, that’s what I get for doing some of the work at school in class, got to love mono-toned teachers.
Awesome job Stealth.
Also, This one reminds me of the 343 Guilty Sparks sub level “The Flood”

That level inspired that room.

Hey i love the top to i left selected, marathon is still and always will be epic and i like the shield. * wish they were real*
The forerunner room look well detailed and very accurate! this one wins the cake
If you can make a new design, it isn’t halo! but can you make the triforce with mixed in kinda like at the legendary Medal from halo when you play on legendary!
Links master sword
Ganon’s Gerudo sword
Links shield
Just an idea…
Wow quite nice mate is there a place I can find out information on how to do computer art like that? I have been interested in learning how to do that and that kind of information would be amazingly helpful. Of course you will get a cookie too

It is well detailed, not as detailed as I would like, but some day I may put some more time into it.

I’ll try my hand at the first and second, maybe even the third. When I’m done, I’ll send you links of the renders.

Most people use modeling programs, I just use CAD (Computer Aided Drafting/Design) software, I do a lot of drafting, in fact only a 3rd of my work is Halo related, the rest I’ve done for personal reasons, and for little side projects. Drafting isn’t for every one tho, it’s a skill you have to learn, and some people it’s harder than others.
It’s easy for me because I tough my self how to use Solid Works. If you’re in High school, I suggest you sign up for some Drafting classes, start out with basic drafting, then move up to CAD, and then once you finish High school, you can start learning more drafting and CAD work in collage. Maybe if you turn out to be good at drafting, you might be able to get into a drafting field like Coux73, some areas of drafting have a high demand for draftsmen, and the pay is good.
I made the Forerunner room my desktop background. Thanks Stealth!

> yes I can, in Solid Works you can make three different types of drawings, Parts, Assembly, and Drawing (Basically Blue Prints with out the blue.) I make things in the parts drawing types, then I can takes a group of parts and put them together as an assembly. Just look at my BR renders, in all of the BRs in those images is the same BR drawing, the only difference is I added extra parts to the BR. Once I draw the part, sticking them together is easier than sleeping.
