This is a spot on analysis, just wish they would own up to it or at the very least stop ignoring the consumer base and kind of just making us trench along with their decisions.
That’s truly shocking. If I was to buy the BP then it would only for the fire effects…thanks for saving me £10 Or whatever it would have cost!
No it doesn’t have anything to do with latency or ping. I mean I guess if you were running dialup internet in 2005 it might make a slight difference. But ping/latency is 99% dependent on your location in relation to the server of the game and your ISP’s servers. Online gaming actually has very small data transfer, I’m talking like kilobytes of data transfer. It’s all about how fast your game can talk to the server and the server can reply to your game. The less distance there is between you and the server, the lower your ping and the better your game feels. An example of this is that I use an ISP that provides 400mbps download speed in my area with 20mbps upload speed. My ISP server however is located quite some distance away from my home. Because of this, I get 80ms ping in most games. My brother uses local internet, the server is located just a few miles from his house, his download speed is 30mbps, with an upload speed of 3mbps. Even with these speeds, because he’s located near his ISP’s server, he often gets around 30ms ping in the same games as me. That’s less than half the ping at like a 10th of my internet speed solely because he’s closer to his server.
