My Realistic Hopes for the Future

DISCLAIMERS: As the title implies, I have other hopes that are unlikely to become a reality. I’ve tried to avoid including anything that’s been confirmed. You’ll likely view most of this as being a waste of developer resources. Finally, these are in no particular order.

  1. Fixes to remaining visual inconsistencies
  2. A permanent selection of ranked playlists like Halo 5 recently received
  3. The permanent return of a more Halo-y splash screen
  4. The ability to choose backgrounds without mods
  5. The implementation of remaining unused cosmetics, for those who want them
  6. Fixes to Spartan Ops tracking
  7. Fixes to performance on Anniversary visuals
  8. Fixes to Halo 3’s buggy Forge tool additions (potentially unrealistic)

MCC finally became more-or-less what I waited years for it to become with Season 8. These few things would be the finishing touches for me to be satisfied with it.

These are in a particular order.

  1. 4v4 Elite Slayer back into Reach
  2. Slayer Pro back into Reach
  3. Fix the announcer who no longer says Perfection at the end of a Reach Slayer game when you achieve one
  4. Fix the 3 vanishing Moa on Nightfall
  5. Add in the remaining OG maps that are still missing from Reach’s Slayer map pool selection (Affinity, Chateau, Eden Minor, Enclosed, Midas, Precipice, Pulse, Renova, Treasury)

mine in no particular order:

  • Restore Drones as a wave setting in Halo Reach Firefight
  • Halo Reach Firefight Allied ODST NPC rework (settings for spawning allied ODST’s on all maps, Elite Players ability to assassinate ODST NPC’s Restored, etc.)
  • ODST Stationary Gauss Turret added to Halo 3 Forge
  • Halo Online DMR added to Halo 3 Forge (and subsequently Halo 3 Automag stats reworked closer to ODST stats)
  • The Silenced SMG fully restored to H2C
  • The Cut Beach Example map from H2V Restored as an official map for H2C (and recreated as a built-in map for the H2A forge canvas Awash)
  • Example added officially to H2C (and Recreated as a built-in map for the H2A forge canvas Skyward)
  • more H2A Forge maps upgraded to built-in status (much like Halo Reach does)
  • The ability to select menu SFX and Music

With the Moa issue, I don’t see that being fixed since it’s a legacy bug. To my knowledge, there’s only one example of 343 Industries fixing something that was also present pre-MCC.

Agreed. Good point. Do you think they’d just appear as a random, standalone option throughout full set Firefights, or would they be combined with other enemy types? Because I could see them being a real big nuisance on game types such as rocket or fuel rod gun fight as they’d be difficult to hit in the air. Hell even fist fight would be annoying until they landed. And then in Firefight Doubles which is shorter and more structured (Grunts, Jackals, Brutes, so on), they’d either have to be omitted completely or bundled in with the group that shows up on the last wave which is usually a mix of enemies on most game types if I remember correctly.

What was it?

They’d likely be set up similarly to how they are in ODST I’d imagine, though they wouldn’t spawn in most preset modes unless either the player alters the wave properties when setting the game up (sort of like how the Reach spec-ops elites are), or they are set as a bonus round thing (like Skirmishers and Grunts are)

In Halo 4’s first mission, during the “someone should’ve found us by now” scan, Chief’s arms would jut forward until the scan completed.

Would be nice to see service tags in H2C instead of the player emblem. Every other game supports them even CE.
