Hello all, today I have been given my third quit ban. Why, you ask? Well, I’ve dealt with being betrayed by many teammates, frustratingly uncoordinated matches, and worst of all, the other team simply beating the -Yoink- out of mine. “That’s your fault”, no, in no way is it my fault in the slightest. I cannot determine if a teammate will betray me when starting a match, I may also not determine the skill level of the other team (I do not base skill on rank, rather on in-game gameplay). That being said, I’ve started playing Team Objective today, and have been beaten almost every time. Luckily, I haven’t been betrayed, but I have had my health knocked down and had very many annoyances during the match. I heard that they balance the teams with BPI or something like that, haven’t researched it yet. In my case, mine is 41, which seems low to me (I have problems playing fast-paced games, so I’m always a little under-average), so why is the other team always tremendously better than mine? Why do I have a quit ban when it’s impossible to play against them, or with my own team? Why am I only now getting a quit ban when playing Team Objective, and never any other playlist? None of this makes sense to me, and I sincerely hope H4 removes the strict-banhammer policy, for one that removes your XP. I would rather lose a small amount of XP than not be able to play the game I spent over one-hundred dollars on. I do not want you to tell me to “get better” at the game, as the only way to do that is by playing, but when I have a quit ban for a few horrid matches, I can’t do that. I play Halo for hours every day, and this definitely affects that. So all-in-all, what may I do about this? I read the Official Ban thread, and it’s seems like a slap-in-the-face to me, so I won’t seek any help there. Is there any way to change the way my match-balancing is calculated? Does the psych profile have anything to do with it? Any answers would be very much appreciated!
When you quit in team based games you leave an empty hole. Your own team killing you is bad, but i have never had that much a problem with it because after it happens i submit player review and avoid player.
But you will have the good with the bad when you play online, but your choice to quit games is in the T.A.C. as a bannable. Is it your fault for bad teams, no but i would tell you to get a group and play with them. Is it your fault for quitting when you lose? YES it is, and always will be. I have no pity for you because you quit the games, quitting is a big problem in the halo games so far so they made the bans for it. Just because people make bad choices on your team, gives you no right or justification to make another bad choice and quit.
As for team objective, If you don’t have a good team you will get beaten because that is where team minded teams play. Most loners in there have no concept or ideal of what being in a team requires. Seeing how you quit when the chips are down, I would have to put you in that group as well.
My advise is to play FFA, then you can only blame your self for your lack in quality judgments.
as for the rest, you quit… a lot, and got banned, but twice in a day means you do not learn from your past experience. Taking that in to account, I would say your BR of 41 is wrong, it should be much lower. Learn or die as the saying goes.
not what you wanted or expected, but then again you only have your self to blame because you asked for how we feel about it.
I’ve been the same problem where I’ve been banned twice today due to team killers and my network acting, which both are totally out of my controll. Which you are right you can’t determine whether or not a team mate will betray you, and 343 should fix this by HALO 4, and really get more strict with team killers.

Yeah, you can’t learn how to have fun when the game itself is constantly screwing with you, then bans you for not wanting to put up with it.
I’m sorry, but it isn’t his fault.
It is not really the game, it can not tell who is bad players and good players. It is your choice in what you play in this game, Having a problem in a game type… Try a different one.
But OP stated that they quit because they are losing…
That is their fault, the constant quitting for losing is why they are being placed in “Bad games” to start with. It pits you with people that are 1 good connection 2 like minded and make roughly the same decisions…
Quit a lot and you will be put with people who quit a lot or get booted for team killing…
That is their fault, Im sorry i can’t spell it out for you any more then that.
Its a drama pity why me party… and i didn’t bring my ticket.
There is no way it is not your fault for getting 2 quit bans in a day…
learn to have fun… means stop quitting your stats don’t mean any thing have fun in the matches you are in…
In other words until they stop quitting all the time their gaming experience is going to get no better.
You can blame the game all you want but it is responding to what you do, the old programers saying comes to mind…
> But OP stated that they quit because they are losing…
He could be running into teams that hold the objective on randoms (himself included) and I can’t blame him if that’s the case as who wants to sit there being spawnkilled for the entire duration of the match because his teammates are bad, unsporting, AFC or have already quit out.
I rarely search in a full party as matches become lopsided blowouts and in slayer variants you’re hunting down the few poor souls who stayed in and destorying their K/D ratio while in objective games everyone wants to hold the objective to killspawn the team that is down numbers.
The closest thing Reach does to encouraging sportsmanship is the credit jackpots for not quitting but you only have to run into one bad bad or host booter that kicks you out of a match and you lose that too.
Halo3’s community wasn’t as good as Halo2’s and Reach’s is rotten to the core thanks to stats and medals encouraging poor sportsmanship.
p2p hosting with no quality of service should not have a quit ban and it doesn’t discourage quitting but rather encourage unsporting gameplay like team killing to pass the time remaining in the match.
You have a quit ban because you quit. I know bad teamates can be frustrating, but you gotta deal with it. You can try and have fun with it, especially since credits are mostly based on individual performance. I think Bungie said back in the day that loosing makes your cR multiplied by like .98 or something miniscule like that. Anyway, ultimately the decision to quit or start retaliating vs teamates and getting booted is really yours, just accept it.
I usually found that OPs like this one never reveal the whole story. He’s saying that his teammates betrayed him in around five different games. Seems like par of the puzzle is missing.
This isnt what you want to hear but you have three options here:
Get better so you can put the team on your back
Get a team of good players
Play a different gametype or game.
You can not control team betrayals, it happens. But you dont have rage quit over it. And if you are losing every match, I would suggest getting a team or getting better yourself (as stated above). Do not say I cant get better if I have an MM ban. There is always Customs. Play octagon to work on strafing or accuracy. Play objective based gametypes with your friends to improve teamwork and individual skill. That will help the fact that you are losing (although you should not quit regardless of the fact that the other team is more skilled, You should be watching what they do to improve your own skill.)

True, parties are usually seeking blowout games. Especially full parties in btb. I commend you for not searching in parties, it must be hard seeing as the chance of winning is higher in a party. I play solo the majority of the time.

Being betrayed is not uncommon if you’re always sprinting for your team’s sniper or other power weapon at the start of the match.
When playing BTB picking up your team’s sniper at the start of the game is asking to be betrayed because it happens so damn often. When playing against full teams with randoms I’ve been betrayed for almost every form of power weapon because my teammates get so frustrated because of the massive skillgap, communication and sometimes latency advantage a full team has over randoms.
I often find myself wishing the 1 betrayal = option to boot policy came back because with the modified system you can be betrayed 2-3 times in a match with no option to boot.

I gotta agree with you kiwi… But the part I quoted…
The community makes it really, really hard on people with low stats. Now, I have average stats and am even positive in MLG, but I still get harassed the hell out of because I have an average BPR.
This community does not make stats easy.
But yeah, OP: You put negative in (quitting) then you are going to get negative right back out.
So you’d rather teammates AFC or stay in and get obliterated?
All too often I see people AFC after they’ve been killed a few times, in most cases these people aren’t very skilled with low k/d ratios and probably figure it’s better to AFC part of the match then quit and possibly get quit banned. In such a situation I’d rather they quit then.
