My proposal for the H4 ranking system

I’ve mentioned this in a couple of other threads before, but I thought I create a thread for it to see what other people think:

For the Halo 4 ranking system I would like to see the return of 1-50, but with a twist. What I would like to see is a hybrid of Halo 2 and 3’s 1-50 skill system and the current Halo: Reach Arena division percentage.

What would happen is this: 1-50 would work exactly as it did in the past. You would attain a high skill in multiple ranked playlist and even if your skill goes down you get credit for your highest skill achieved.

Then, inside these skill brackets players would be given a percentage of where they stand in comparison to other players of the same high skill…this would work more as an overall indicator and wouldn’t be specific to any playlist, but would rather fluctuate according to any game played.

e.g. of this ranking system:

100% High Skill 1 would be the lowest you could get, or the starting point.

1% High Skill 50 would be the best you could get.

What do you guys think?

I Really Couldn’t Understand What You Were Trying To Say.

Anyway, Don’t Go Too Fast Pal! Halo 4 Comes Out In Holiday 2012, Let’s Focus On Halo Fest And Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary By Now…

That’s… that’s actually really good.

So you’re saying that there are basically 50 divisions?
Can you get demoted from them without playing?

So if I were to get a 50, and then didn’t play on it, the high skill of 50 would stay but I would drop to the low percentiles of it (like upper 90%). I guess I could be for this. I would just play for my rank, so it wouldn’t affect me. And the more tryhard people will see how good they are compared to the other 50s. Seems like a good solution.

lol no

actually, i prefer reach’s. but with my own twist: arena ranking overall.

Arena would be gone, but your overall skill would be put into divisions

that way, some guy who’s new to the game can still be shown as Onyx or something if he’s really good

and some guy who’s put in a thousand hours can still be shown as bronze if he’s not any good after all that time

I actually really like Reach’s system. covers face for incoming tomatoes

that would make sense. after a long time of not playing, you won’t be as good. so why show in the game you’re still very good when people who have been getting better in the time you’ve taken off

I like this guy’s opinion covers face for incoming plasma

A great idea.

Reachs Arena system would be fine if you rank was next to your name (like how it is in the arena playlist). It fails in that you have to dig through 4 menus just to see someones rank thus making getting ranks dumb.

Reachs other “rank” is not a rank. Its a clock next to your name. It just shows how long you play.

Kind of exactly what I was going for.

You would never lose your 50, but your division standing would rise/fall depending on how well/poor you play after the fact.
