My Problems With Halo 4

So let’s start off simple. I’m a fan of the classic Halo aesthetics. UNSC, Covenant, and Forerunner. I would’ve preferred the Chief to wear his original MJOLNIR Mk. VI armor in this game and he could get a new set in the next. I didn’t like the new look of the Marines, Spartans, Pelicans, or the redesign of the ‘Forward Unto Dawn.’ The same is true for the redesigns of the Grunts, Jackals, Hunters, and the Elites. I honestly prefer their more classic designs, however. I can completely accept that Jul 'Mdama’s Covenant-remnant would be outfitted differently considering that most of his Elites are from Hesduros. As for the Forerunner designs, H4 changed way too many things. Yes, Forerunner structures are supposed to be big and awe-inspiring. But they are also supposed to be old and mysterious. Geometrical in nature. Sometimes made many of different types of metal and stone. Almost Church-like.

I would’ve personally preferred the UNSC to look more like they did in H3, HW, or Reach. I wanted the Marines too like this and I wanted the iconic Pelican too. I wanted the Elites to be tall, slender, stealthy, and deadly. Like this! Not big, bulky, slow, and stupid. Because Jul 'Mdama’s Elites are from Hesduros, I wanted them to wear almost “tribal-like” armor with pieces of cloth and war-paint. I wanted both the classic Jackal and Skirmishers. Not Velociraptors that went to the gym. You could even make them pirate-like and vicious. I also wanted the classic spiky hard-shelled Grunts that we’ve had since H3. Not those pale scaly monkeys. Though this armor is mostly fine. The Hunters didn’t really need to change at all. And as for the Forerunner structures and the Promethean Knights, they should’ve paid more homage to the classic Forerunner designs. Everything was too curved, shiny, clean, bright, and reflective. And there was too much lens flare!

Don’t get me wrong, I still like H4. I thought that the story was really good, but it had flaws. For example, I would’ve liked to have seen Jul 'Mdama and play major role in main campaign. I also wasn’t too fond of Sarah Palmer or Spartan Ops. She could have been better and the Spartan Ops story was weak. Other than that, I liked H4.

Halo 4 was really a reskinned halo reach. I still like and play it often but I agree with you. They should have left some things alone.

My problem with Halo 4 is its title

Also, Halo 4 has a slightly broken multiplayer. I do play it alot though.

I’d rather for Halo 4 to have a subtitle than just a generic and plain number, just like what they did with Halo 5 Guardians. Like look at Bungie’s Halos, they all have subtitles, except for Halo 2 and 3

I disagree. The titles of Halo 3: ODST and Halo Reach aren’t “subtitled.” ODST’s proper name is ODST. The “Halo 3” part just indicates the gameplay. Reach’s title is Reach, just as seen on the main menu. Combat Evolved is accepted as a title, but it’s more of statement of Halo being the first FPS to be truly optimized for console. Halo 5: Guardians is subtitled… But then again, it’s total crap too. Only the Sangheilios and the first Blue Team mission was good imo.

good day.
I’mhaving trouble installing the Halo 4 game on xbox One.It is the game edition of the year.
Ihave restored data from the console, change the region, try another xbox one and I get the error that tries with another different disk since it can not be played.

They’re subtitles of ‘Halo’: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach
Although Halo 2 Vista and Halo 3 Mythic could be considered them

Considering that I am working towards a Bachelors in English Education and minor in Eastern Literature, I can assure you that those are not subtitles. In books and other works, a subtitle is an explanatory or alternate title. As an example, Mary Shelley gave her most famous novel the title Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus; by using the subtitle “the Modern Prometheus”, she references the Greek Titan as a hint of the novel’s themes. Therefore, the only Halo titles that are actually subtitled are both Halo: Reach and Halo 5: Guardians. Neither Halo: Combat Evolved nor Halo 3: ODST have subtitles because they do not hint towards the story. Instead, they give emphasis to gameplay. But then again… This debate could go on forever.

Spirit Wolf I completely agree what really irked me was all the changes to the classic look and design. 343 took over a game that has been around for over 10 years when they got it, there is a set in stone formula to the game. When they change nearly everything and expect us to just accept it wont turn out well. I was okay with the story, it was not as bad as I have heard from a lot of people. It was just the awful “remade” looks of everything

I also detest the new sound of the energy sword

Yeah ikr?! It’s just upsetting. I mean, I don’t mind if the Master Chief and the Elites get new armor. I just wish the Chief could’ve kept his old armor for H4 and gotten a new Gen II set or something in the next game. And as for the Elites, I just wanted them to look like Elites. They could have new armor (preferably tribal-like), but they still need to be tall, slender, stealthy, and deadly.

The story was okay, but it was seriously lacking in the “charm department.” Joseph Staten would’ve have let that happen. The games needed more humor to help balance out the stories. Such as this, this, and this.

Other than Energy Sword in the H2A Campaign, I haven’t liked it since Reach. It was the last good sword.
