My problems with halo 4 MM

disclaimer, this are my personal opinion, i got halo ce in 2002, played with freinds and did lan parties, i also got h2 and xboxlive on release, i’ve gotten every single halo game on release form then on, and i’ve mostly enjoyed them all, i play for fun, so certain things have zero meaning to me (aka little fancy numbers/ranks) i’m no mlg player and i’ve never tried to be.

<mark>1. the vehicle sandbox and general durability-</mark> this is a two pronged problem, team shooting with a dmr will destroy any vehicle in a matter of moments, and a single player with two stickies, and a plasma pistol can destroy any vehicle in a matter of moments as well (including the wraith) and stickies and plasma pistol are now user selectable loadouts that all players in a game can have. now my solutions may be greeted with hate, but what i would like to see is a classic esque style gametype, where armour abilities, and armour mods are chooseable, but loadout weapons and loadout grenades are not, this would prevent every player from having a plasma pistol and plasa grenades as well as starting with vehicle destroying hitscan dmr. p.s. buff the hog chain gun, it just seems so weak compared to past halos)

<mark>2.weapon sandbox, the loadout system and the fact that halo with a loadout system…is a bad idea-</mark> halo has ALWAYS been a “if you want a better weapon, find it” game, i even remember the locations of half a dozen basic (aka what would be considered a loadout weapon now) what this caused was some serious balance, in halo 3 and below, it allowed certain players to get specifically useful weapon (aka plasma grenades) that could have uses other then simply killing a player, but it would prevent ALL players from getting it, and in halo reach, with it controversial change to the weapon sandbox by making all bullets have a decent affect against armoured vehicles, it prevented a full team of 8 from being able to hitscan dmr EVERYTHING that moved, because of ammo restrictions, and number on the map, very often no more then 3 players per team would have such a weapon and given it’s improved effectiveness it was not a overpowered advantage.
the removal of the scope knockout and the addition of the flinch is turning halo away from halo, the only thing a flinch causes, is a nuisence for some, and given certain weapons, it may even cause free oneshot kills (aka, when a player is targeting the body the flinch bring him to the head) it a horrible mechanic that does NOT work to effectively lockout long range combat (where the unscope would cause long range combat to be very difficult due to no precision aim) if you want staggering proof, look at a dmr engaging a sniper, in the past, sniper would get knockout of scope ad relocate, now snipers just double taps the body shot. given the sniper rifles damage against vehicles, it makes the long range power weapons (which are VERY comman now, thanks to ordinance and map drops ONLY being power weapons)even more powerful.

<mark>3.instant respawns-</mark> death has penalties, this is basic knowledge, with instant respawn, more time than i can count, i get into a 2v1 fight and when i’m actually successful, and kill both…they instant respawn and ping me from across the map with their dmr one shotting me because my sheilds haven’t recharged, or they spawn right behind me and assassinate me. seriously, instant respawn is just bogus.

<mark>4. join in progress.</mark> this one is a double edges sword, i appreciate the fact that when half my team quits, we will end up getting those players back in a couple of seconds, what i don’t like is the fact, when i join as a party of 7, we end up in a big team game…WHERE ONE TEAM WAS DOWN BY SEVEN PLAYERS FOR GOOD REASON, nor do i enjoy joining a game where all i get to do is spawn once and the game ends because it was 98-12 score. join in progress needs to be disabled for hopeless games, and if the game ends up going into a 8v1, and the score is 85-14, you need to just go into sudden death, killing the one guy ends the game, to prevent a party from joining a hopeless match and just getting pissed that our w/l just went down for no reason.

I agree with the majority of your points, but Halo 4 is still a good game. A few tweaks in MM will be nice.

i agree, halo 4 is a great game in fact.

but, it simply not the halo i had envisions, nor expected, alot of memorable points that would possible in EVERY prior halo, simply aren’t in h4, and alot of elements were added well, poorly…
