I just watched LateNightgmaining video titled : “Let’s talk about REALISTIC expectations for Halo Infinite | Story, Gameplay and More…” and it got me thinking of what the I want. Probably not gonna get, but ya know.
Oh my god, we start out dropping onto a ring and then we hear a different voice for the AI ( I think Roland). And we eventually get to the point where we have a three way fight. Why fight on the ring? To end Cortana’s reign. It would be cool to fight along the Sangheilis Arbiter, my enemy of my enemy is my friend Atriox, all to defeat Cortana. However, to defeat Cortana is to also control the Universe, no? Which is also why we are cooperating and fighting the Banished.
I’m not sure if the Banished and SoS will team up with each other? After all they do have the same beliefs or if not most of

SoS? I’m bad on the Lore. I am sure something could be worked out.
I find it highly unlikely the Banished will be involved in Halo Infinite. Halo Wars 2 was designed so that it could occur free of the consequences of Halo 5 in its own little bubble. Granted, a Guardian secures the Halo that Anders is on at the end, but that’s pretty much it. Atriox isn’t leaving the Ark anytime soon, especially with Cutter and the Spirit of Fire still in his way. I suppose some Banished could have stayed behind in the Milky Way, but without Atriox they may as well just be red and black painted Covenant. I’m also not expecting the Arbiter to be in Infinite since he still has his homeworld of Sanghelios to worry about. Defeating Cortana also wouldn’t be anywhere close to suddenly being able to control the universe. The universe is far bigger than our galaxy and Cortana doesn’t even have full control of that.

This is something I would definitely prefer. The way they set up Halo Wars 2 ending made it seem like the SoF will be stuck at the Ark a little longer, trying to take on the remaining Banished, which will give us a self contained story suited to a RTS. I’m interested what will become of the ring that Anders was on.
Perhaps they are on Onyx? Not sure, but was reading Legacy of Onyx today and could not help but think of Infinite and the openness of it. Not sure, just wondering. As big and unexplored and unexplained as it is…

didn’t they say halo wars 2 will tie into halo infinite at one point?

They did mention something along those lines, yeah but it could just be Anders. With that said, I’m pretty there is little that the SoF can do to stop Atriox from getting off the Ark, so we could see the Banished make a return in Halo; Infinite. They would make for a good Covenant replacement since I don’t see us only fighting Prometheans and Flood for the entire game.

which is probably likely

I think the Infinity will find Anders in Infinite, but they won’t go help the SoF until Halo 7 where the Banished will be the main antagonists or maybe campaign DLC. After seeing the trailer and hearing about some leaks, I also unfortunately think the Banished won’t make an appearance.

SoS is Swords of Sanghelios, the Elite faction that Arbiter runs.

The only way I see the Banished making a return is if Cortana takes over all Forerunner structures in Infinite. Even if they did return, I don’t think we’d see them as enemies. The way I see it going is that the remnants of the Covenant will probably flock to Cortana like they did the Didact. Prometheans will probably be the main enemy we fight (which is sad because they play as well as the Covenant). Possibly the Created become physical enemies and fight with Prometheans. The Banished are definitely the most interesting group out of the bunch, but I don’t see how they would tie that in even with a time jump. If the Covenant are returning, they need to be redone. Elites need to be fast and formidable again. You could work the new Grunts as a more feral, expendable force like HW2 did. Jackals and Skirmishers can give you the fast enemies. Hunters need new variants. Maybe heavy armored or new styles of weaponry. Just a thought.
I’ve got a feeling it’ll be Prometheans as the main baddies with a few new variants. Take away the Soldiers warping, make the Knights more aggresive like 4, possibly bring a War Sphinx into the mix, and new Sentinel types. I hope we get some better enemies in this one.
