My plan to survive the sexism ban...

Here is my Halo 4 creed to avoid being banned:

1.) I will not plug my mic in, even if I’m not talking, or even if I’m not planning to talk. I will only break this rule if I am in a secure party with people I both know and trust.

2.) I will not place in the top 3 spots on the leaderboard. Doing this will leave me open to reporting. I will aim for 4th and lower, even if I have to stop playing my best and let myself be killed.

3.) I will no longer -Yoink!-, this includes while using the Mantis.

4.) I will not reply to messages from players I do not know, my response could be used against me.

5.) I will not pick up power weapons, and let other players have first pick of seats for vehicles. My own ordinance drops will be left for my team.

6.) I will not kill players with female player models.

7.) I will not draw attention to myself in any way in game, or through its social interfaces, doing so could leave me open to being reported.

There are my 7 rules.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not getting perma-banned.

This thread highlights everything wrong with the system. Bravo.

Don’t make sexist comments.

^There you go

Tea-Bagging good, Sexism bad = 343 in a nutshell.

What happens if I -Yoink!- a girl?

I have no idea how this will be enforceable. I’m trash talking a girl in the lobby, how will 343 know about it? Unless it happens to be an employee of 343 or Microsoft.

What if I’m a gentleman and a scholar, but end up wrecking the other team, and I’m reported for sexism? This is the type of thing wrong with this system.

OP’s does a nice job of showing the problems with this.

Here’s how I’m going to avoid a sexism ban.

  1. Continue treating women like people like I’ve always done.
  2. GOTO 1.

How naive can some of you be? It’s like the rep system, people can report you for anything they want, nregardless of whether or not it’s true. It’s not as simple as not being an -Yoink-.

I’ve never even run into an identifiable female on XBL, let alone have I taken the time to plug my mic in, think of something sexist to say, have a reason/desire to say it, then deliver the remark.

I’m just saying, don’t be swept away in the great cleansing friend.

The thing is, how would they know if someone isn’t just abusing the system? Sexism in general should be bad, not just sexism against women. They want to get treated equally, so let them.

Here’s the thing, no one would ever implement any sort of permaban system that would ban people without any sort of fair review. Any problems we can think of with people abusing it would have been thought of by 343 before they implemented it in the first place.

Then it will ban a very marginal number of actual offenders, and once people learn it’s just a scare tactic, nothing will have been achieved.

But how will it be implemented? If it requires proof, than thats ok. But if it doesn’t, Im not sure how they will handle it. I wish they would come out and explain.

I know, I see this problem as well. It’s already a rule in the Xbox Live terms, and we know how many people follow it currently.

You teabagged me? You got a pretty good kill on me but ended my killing frenzy, oh hells naw. reports you for sexism
tells all recent players and friendslist to report you for sexism

Enough people reported you for it, must be true, right? Perma-ban.

There’s a website dedicated to the messages women recieved based on the fact that they’re women.

Thank you for posting that, I have just lost all faith in the ability of 90% of my gender to treat women as actual people.

I’m going to get banned for simply playing well, I don’t even use a mic. But people will use this new system to do so. It’s going to be lame.

Online extreme violence and killing is fine, just not online trash talk. Ok, well that makes a lot of sense.

Here’s a thought: How about you avoid the ban by not being sexist, which the majority of the forum members have been revealing they are over the course of the day.

So we can trash talk anyone but females ? Trash talking is funny in my opinion receiving and dishing it out, but we have to avoid directing it towards females because it can potentially be determined as sexism. There are some pretty universal perverted terms thrown at players, but if a female is in the game, we must be gentleman…makes sense.
