My Personal Idea FOR Halo 4. 5, 6 credit system

Credits = Set Wagers and gamble on who wins the match.
You earn credits in social matchmaking. You then take those credits and use them as wagers in Ranked Matchmaking. Before the game starts each player sets a personal wager betting on whether or not they win the game.

Blue Teammate: Wager 1,000 credits
Blue Teammate: Wager 1,000 credits
Blue Teammate: Wager 1,000 credits
Blue Teammate: Wager 1,000 credits

Red Teammate: Wager 1,000 credits
Red Teammate: Wager 1,000 credits
Red Teammate: Wager 1,000 credits
Red Teammate: Wager 1,000 credits

RED TEAM WINS.

Blue Teammate: Loss of 1,000 Credits
Blue Teammate: Loss of 1,000 Credits
Blue Teammate: Loss of 1,000 Credits
Blue Teammate: Loss of 1,000 Credits

Red Teammate: Gain of 1,000 credits
Red Teammate: Gain of 1,000 credits
Red Teammate: Gain of 1,000 credits
Red Teammate: Gain of 1,000 credits

Red player has a total of 57,000 credits in his bank from winning matches.
He takes out 30,000 credits and enters into the high stakes matchmaking. Only good players risk their credits in high stakes so he makes sure to bring a team with him who also want to run high stakes ranked matchmaking.

Now he plays risking 30,000. He wins the match.
He now has a total of 87,000 credits in his bank. Doesn’t that sound like a -Yoink- load of fun! haha.

Each teammate on the red team has lost 1000 credits and may have to go back to social matchmaking to acquire more credits. Or they may have a larger bank and can afford the loss.

You will still be able to play Matchmaking with out wagering credits. It is just a fun thing to do on the side.

Now imagine if you could do this with 1v1’s where there is no limit. You could make high stakes matches exciting because you are actually risking your wealth for matches.
In the end highly skilled players will have more credits than lower skilled players. Now obviously there will be “boosters” who will just give each other credits but who cares! That is what makes it fun!

Imagine going to your friend and challenging him to an high stakes 1,000,000 to 1,000,000 credits bet on a 1v1. Now that would be an exciting match and would seriously get your heart pounding.

If you have any additions or alterations to my idea please post them below. We really need to work out the kinks of this system so that it could be a possible option in the future. It is just an idea so please try not to flame. Thanks.

Interesting idea. I really like it.

I guess you could get more credits by doing challenges and ranking up etcetera in case someone goes all in and looses it all.

good idea. i suspect it’ll be a little unbalanced. a gamble limit should be put in place. to stop people who will take advantage with the mechanics and jump to top rank

tl;dr Halo 3 system FTW

I like it, if that’s not an incentive to win, I don’t know what is

The only problem with that is full party boosting. people could just double their credits every game while the loosing team wagers the minimum credits. And if this is made impossible by making everyone have to wager the same amount of cR, then you would NEVER agree on a wager/find a match with the same wager if it’s not the default amount (1000 or whatever it would be)

> tl;dr Halo 3 system FTW

I like the achievement idea better with halo 3 and i think they should be lone wolf achievements again like Halo 3. You had to actually earn them.

I agree, credits need to be more useful and they should be used to by things other than armor, like custom maps, or weapon skins. However, good players on losing teams should not be punished as harshly as their inferior teammates, maybe they lose 500 credits instead of 1,000 and if that player does the best on the winning team or get the objective more than his teammates he gets double credits. Team killers will lose credits and can go in the red if they do not have the credits.
There is also the question of how to get credits without wagers in case someone blew all of your credits. my answer is challenges and only challenges and nothing else, not by completing a game of firefight or something. Here is another thing i thought of. People make their own custom challenges on waypoint, you will have to make your own challenges and they determine the wager.

It would also be cool if people could use in-game credits to upgrade your forge budget and upgrade how many items that players can have on a map, which would make custom maps better.

Credits do not contribute to exp.

I never saw this thread, but quite a lot of good ideas on what the credit system should be like. I was thinking of multi integration, You can transfer your total credits on Reach into Halo 4. And of course get bonus amount when you initially start up (dedicated fan, Bungie and waypoint user, Trilogy Player)

How about no credit system at all? This sounds worse than the one we have now…

Edit: Wow, someone just boosted a thread that’s almost a month old…

Hell yeah dude, this sounds legit! I’m pretty sure this idea stems from Black Op’s Wager Matches, so I might throw down a little tale. Everytime I’d play the high roller matches in BO, -Yoink!- was that a heart pounding match every single time! Dude, so down with this. Good idea OP, good idea.

It’s not a bad idea but there’s too much room for flaws and boosting.
