I like everything about the Recon controller layout, except the crouch. I would honestly prefer that the left bumper be crouch for me, and have sprint or armour abilities be X, then have the down on D pad be switch grenades.
I think that crouching with my Xbone controller is just way to difficult as is, and sometimes unreliable.
What do you guys think? Should I have this? What kind of suggestions would you guys make?
I use bumper jumper and inverted aim. Default sens usually. I turn off toggle crouch in halo, seems useless in my opinion.
Still I suggest just using a personal preference and if something feels annoying try changing for atleast a couple of games as changes always seems bad at first.
I use Recon buttons with Legacy Sticks and claw grip lol.
Fyi, Xbox one dashboard will let you remap buttons. Get a layout as close to what you like as you can and then use the app to swap a couple others. You may not get it downright perfect, but you can get it to where it’s more comfortable. I had to do this with Destiny so my Sprint was on X, melee on B, and crouch on Left stick by swapping functions around.
Edit: as another fyi, games and console don’t know what buttons are pressed, just functions of it. So if you remap B to LS Click, the game will still say B, but you’ll need the B function, which is now LS Click so in menus for games you’ll need to click your stick for B. Get it?

I had no idea this was a thing. You are a gentleman and a scholar, sir.

It’s confusing at first but it makes a world of difference when playing. Give it a try sometime. It works for all controllers but it affects the whole system across all games. So you’ll need to change it back if you use other controls in another game.
I play with my feet, I sit on the floor and crouch over my controller, my right foots big toe on the right stick and left foots big toe on the other one, it’s a bit of a stretch but I’m trying to lose stomach weight as well so it comes in as a good workout, I’m a Size 10.5 UK so my toes just manage to reach the A,B,X,Y. It’s hard to get used to but when you’re hands feel numb from working a hard day in the mining shaft, a cold beer feet on the pad and sniping people is the best thing in the world.
