My Patience is Gone

Your challenge system is disgusting, it ruins this game. Why are you making play gametypes I hate and use weapons that are terrible. It is bad enough that I have play your curated crap gametypes during “events” like Fiesta and LSS. Now I have to spend money in order to not play SWAT or use the Disrupter. Speaking of the Disrupter, you made LSS suck even more. Oh yes I absolutely want to spawn in the middle of three people using ARs on Highpower with a Disrupter. What reality are you living in? The lag is abhorrent and nothing seems consistent. My bullets are rubber sometimes. This game sucks and it is sad because I did actually enjoy it (I still enjoy Campaign). All you have done is make everything worse.

Stinks…

I’ve mostly just ignored the challenges this season. For the battle pass I did about a hour to hour and third minutes playing, but only on game modes I wanted to play. Finished the battle pass in about 42-43 days ( June 12th I believe. The only challenges I did were for weeks event, since they were all easy, and a breeze to blitz through. Kill Spartans, Headshot kills, Played games, Melee kills, ect. Only one that took time was Headshot kills, but it didn’t take long. Did 5 event challenges to get all ten items and ignored the rest. Thankfully no good weekly rewards so I ignored every single one of them.

Can’t really speak about lag, I don’t get it that often. Must get servers in my location often to never get it I guess.

Sorry to hear you’re having such troubles though. Hopefully it’ll improve with time. =]

Other than padded play time and showing numbers, the challenge system makes no sense at all.

I don’t get the logic behind over controlling how players play any game or how 343 even thought RNG in a game like this was a “good thing”. That last part was a deal breaker and because of Bungie’s rigged system in Destiny I hate RNG. Nowadays it’s being used for the wrong reason, the lack of player count, and because of the RNG it also has effected how game modes are designed and it effects how players will play.

Over controlling how players play any game is flowed logic, period.

Yeah man, why isn’t the universe bending to your will?
If RNG isn’t my subservient slave, why even play Halo Infinite?

ITT we complain about not being the centre of the universe and having to do things outside of our comfort zone.

It’s an event.

Not all events will cater to everyone’s preference.

Just play the games you like until the event is over. Unless of course the weekly prize is something you want to grind for (I admit I want Tactical Clippy).

You have full control here.

The problem is that people have no control over their wants and let it get the best of them. If people did have better control over their habits 343i would probably be quicker on changing things in the way people actually wanted them to be.

Sometimes I wonder if (some) people are just playing the martyr.

343 hate me. Look what they are making me do. And all for a weapon coating I don’t even like and will probably never use.

It’s weird.

“Why isn’t universe bending to my will” isn’t “why are these game devs forcing me to play things I don’t want to play to progress in a game that’s about fun”. 343’s job is to curate a fun experience and the Challenge system runs directly counter to that. Don’t act smug and insinuate everyone sick of dealing with 343’s poor design choices is just entitled.

My guy you’re forgetting that these events come with challenges that’re tied to said event. Anyone who wants the armor that’s arbitrarily locked off behind the event but doesn’t like LSS/Fiesta/whatever is now encouraged to play a thing they don’t find fun in a game which is about making sure the player is having fun. That’s bad design, period.

Just spend money on swaps till you get the one you need to play the game types you want. I kid of course but that was the thinking over at 343. The priority is to bilk your customers rather than bank on their general enthusiasm and joy for playing your game. Its pretty gross and 343 should be ashamed for this level of manipulation. No wonder people just bag on the game and no one is playing it.

Problem with this argument is that you can ignore challenges completely and still play the game the way you want to. They are by no means forcing anyone to do them at all.

They could be better yes of course, but over all though it’s 343i’s decision in how they’re implemented. You just have to hope you can persuade them to change their minds about it.

I totally relate here. I seriously hope that all this crap means they have something really big in the works. A massive campaign DLC would go a long way, especially if it was full of little secrets and easter eggs to keep the community busy while they fix multiplayer.

I don’t find LSS particularly fun.

But I knocked off the 10 armour bits in four or five games - by being patient and batching the challenges together. It was handy that I had a few melee ones - and LSS pretty much feeds you those (especially with the disruptor starts).

But whatever. It’s hardly an imposition over a two week period.

I think I’d even be able to cope with playing that many games of Infection if I had to.

It’s designed to frustrate you into purchasing microtransactions. There is a reason you don’t get any free Swaps or free XP Boosts, except in an extremely finite supply that is often time limited or in the Battle Pass.

The devs created a problem, and have turned around and said “Here, here’s the solution! You have to pay for it!”

I honestly, I don’t have issues with the challenges. I might use one a week and that’s usually more about time.

If challenges are play mode-specific, it’s modes that I already play. I just try to stack them in a way that lets me do as many as I can at once.

Last week, I did all of the regular challenges that I could (that I couldn’t get in LSS), so I could have as many LSS ones active when I played the event.

I get why people don’t like the challenges but I kind of feelike it caters to your style. I don’t play BTB - I don’t get BTB challenegs, for example (watch tomorrow)

Well, their mind games don’t work on me, but it’s sad how it does on many players these days.

Tbh, if 343 was actually using the shop/SP as it’s intended purpose, I wouldn’t mind supporting them. The thing is I don’t support any businesses that take advantage of their customers. Especially 343 thinking it’s okay to take but barley offer anything in return.

Its like the challenges are my by stupid AI robots. Thats also the feeling I get with the game modes. They let a robot decide what we can play and how to play it.

If you play for about an hour a day to progress in Halo Infinite, you will have a fun experience and find challenge in the system. If you want to play Fortnite, go play Fortnite.

No one is forcing you to do anything my dude i dont like the challenge system either but its very easy to level up just by playing whatever you want i literally only play bot bootcamp (unless im working on an event pass)and i level up multiple times a day

While I too dislike the current challenge system, I think saying it ruins the game to be an over statement. My biggest issue with the weekly challenge system is that while there is something to go for week to week when work gets busy I miss out on play time for certain items. It sucks buts hey it is a videogame and I’m sure I won’t miss tactical clippy if not I’ll cope. It would be cool to see challenges that last the whole season.
