My opinions on Griffball

So I’m somebody who clearly knows what I’m talking about when it comes to Griffball. I play high level Griffball all the time, and have a deep integrate understanding of the playlist.

So right now it is garbage.

Here’s what it needs…

Guns. Why do we only have melee weapons? That makes no sense in Griffball

Shooting guns while holding the Griffball. Not just the garbage pistol either, I should be able to have Rockets while holding the Griffball.

Asymmetrical maps. The maps are balanced for both sides, clearly the game would be more fun if they were one sided.

Spawn waypoints. We should know exactly where players will spawn to make spawn killing easier, that way we can pad our KDs.

Make the teams lopsided. PLEASE STOP BALANCING THE TEAMS, make it 3v4, or 4v5.

Ordnance drops. There isn’t enough randomness in this playlist, if we really want it to be competitive we need more randomness, because random = competitive.

Make it ricochet. Why the hell do we have to run the ball when we could just throw it? Who doesn’t love hearing and yelling GOAL!

Let’s throw some extra teams in. Red vs Blue is so outdated. Why is Griffball being stuck in the past? Do we really want Halo 3 Griffball? Let’s make it 3 teams, either FFA, or 2 teams vs 1 team

Warthogs. I should just be able to grab the ball, hop in the passenger seat, and have my teammates take me to the goal, all while mowing down the opposing team

Infected. This adds a new element of play. While both teams are desperately trying to score the ball, other players can JiP from the Infection playlist and start killing any players they see. Yeah they could gain up solely on a single team and give the opposing team the easy win, but chances of that are slim because it is 50% blues and 50% reds, so mathematically it is BALANCED.

I enjoyed the rest of your post, but this part made me laugh out loud.

Honestly, this probably belongs in the Grifball Feedback topic.

Grifball’s been doing pretty well for the past five years though. Why would you want to go and change something that’s always worked great?

Feel free to use the feedback thread.

In the meantime, I’ll let all the pros over at Grifball Hub know we’ve been doing it all wrong all this time and that we should clearly just be playing shooty Halo instead.

Thanks for clearing that up for us!
