My opinion on what Halo: Reach needs to improve

  1. Halo Reach needs real maps. Like half the maps are all forged and all you see is the same, boring, gray scenery, which is why I think the game gets boring after playing for an hour or two for most people. We need more uniquely made maps, especially for the MLG playlist.

  2. DMR. I think the DMR should either have a smaller bloom, or remove it completely and make it shoot a little slower. If the bloom is just removed but kept at the same pace, its just going to be an all out spam fest and the DMR will be extremely overpowered.

  3. Ranked Playlist(s). Everyone likes to hang out and play some gametypes with friends like Invasion and Big Team Battle, but when you want to seriously test your skill at the game, there is no where to go in Reach. Even in MLG you constantly play with people who are, for lack of a better word, poorly skilled at the game. There should be a ranked playlist but not messing up like halo 3 did with boosting.

  4. Melee. I know the melee bleed-through is coming in the TU, but from what I’ve read its not in most if any playlists. It’s pretty annoying when you put 3 shots into somebody and melee, and they can still kill you if they just melee twice.

  5. Grenades. I don’t know if its just me and I’m not sure about this part, but it seems grenades are a lot stronger than it past halo games.

Can’t think of anything else atm so tell me what you think. This is in no way hating on the game, I like the game and it’s pretty much all I play, but this is just what I think is the major matchmaking flaws.

I totally agree with your thoughts on improving reach. I would love to see maps similar too midship, guardian and narrows implemented into reach. They also could improve forge, as currently forged maps have a lot of screen lag. This is really hindering the forge community in creating new and creative maps.

  • The remade CE maps will add more color and variety to the mix.

  • I’m excited that bloom is being adjusted, but like you said, not sure how the DMR will work with it. But since the pistol is going to be 3-shot again, the DMR without bloom will probably balance it. I’m sure they’ve done lots of testing on this.

  • Ranked playlists have been discussed over and over and over and over and over, so there’s really no reason for this to be brought up again. But yeah, I agree.

  • Melee system is being fixed, THANK GOD! That’s my favorite change.

  • I think grenades are fine. After all, they are GRENADES. Explosives should be powerful. I don’t find them to be overpowered. They were this strong in Halo CE, they just had a longer fuse.

I made a thread called: ’ I don’t know why everyone is so excited about this TU’.

I argued that it would not bring back the competitive nature of Halo 1 to 3. And after watching this new video about the TU, I gladly admit I was wrong.I really think they made Halo MM special again. And as for ‘Beta Hoppers’, well I doubt this will be the last TU for Reach by 343.
