My Only Problem With Promethean Enemies

While I’m really excited about the new enemy class, it seems strange that only one member of this class can carry weapons usable by the player: the Knights. I could see a serious shortage of Promethean weapons available in Campaign because of this, since Crawlers would make up a multitude of any Promethean force, and can’t be searched for any weapons after they are killed. The same holds true for Watchers, although they’ll be less common.

I find it strange that no Promethean enemies besides Knights can be looted for weapons, given that any Covenant species (besides hunters) carries weapons that the player can take.
Thoughts?

Implying there are no other enemies? I heard somewhere that some things haven’t been revealed yet.

Has it been confirmed that we’ve seen all the Promethean enemies?

Nope

The only role that’s really missing from the Prometheans (that could be revealed later) is a heavy class, akin to Hunters. That could give more opportunities to pick up Promethean weapons, but there’s an equal chance that this class wouldn’t have weapons that could be picked up either.

I believe just after E3 a bulletin was released stating the Crawlers, Watchers, and Knights are three of seven Promethean enemy types. Don’t quote me on that, but I believe that fact came in the same bulletin stating the ancient evil has not yet been revealed.

In a way I agree. True, I would love to see a completely different type of Promethean enemy class. Other than just different variants of the Knight.

Then again Iv also seen a Promethean Assualt riffle(Suppressor),Battle Rifle(Light Rifle), Shotgun(Scattershot), Pistol(Boltshot), and an unnamed sniper rifle.

Sounds like the top Five to me. Plus no telling how many more that havent been seen.

They will have more enemy types than just the 3 revealed, and they haven’t shown off the rest of the promethean weaponry.
So… what’s your deal exactly?

Three of SEVEN? Damn, I was only expecting one other Promethean enemy class, maybe 2 at best. That’s great

this one of the Q&As from a bulltein shortly after e3. put it in the OP man!!!

Apparently, there should be 7 classes of Promethean enemies.

apart from the fact that there may/will be other promethean enemies (not all of them are going to carry guns. i’m thinking of sentinels & co), Requiem is a FR world and there could be weapon caches everywhere.

but i can also imagine that FR weapons will be very powerful and hence not be available all the time for gameplay’s sake.

yes, there’s going to be other Promethean enemies, but so far only 33% carry guns. my post’s been already edited.

Im sure there will be lots of knights to kill

I dont think they will be much more powerful than the other weapons. They are being balanced for multiplayer, and some of them I think will be load out weapons, meaning they are on par with the AR, BR, and DMR, with different functionality but similar power. Its possible that they might be more powerful against certain enemy types, but I hope that they don’t go the route of nerfing them specifically for multiplayer.

From what I understand, not all of the enemies have been revealed as of yet. there may be another foot soldier to fight(albeit weaker). I also believe that some of the more powerful crawlers can shoot a gun from their heads, though I could be wrong about this, and it may not be able to be looted.

As well, It seems like knights will be the primary promethean force we fight while in the campaign, so finding these weapons may not prove difficult. Also, the tech might just be scattered across requiem regardless, as it is home to thousands of promethean AI constructs.

From everything I’ve been told and have read, Promethean Knights are kinda the new Elites/Brutes. They come in more than one flavor, with different colors being of different strengths.

Which would make Watchers like Engineers and Crawlers like Grunts. So, we’ve got a ‘Jackal’ and ‘Hunter’ analogue waiting, I reckon.

Also, bear in mind, from what I’ve seen, these are all low-level AI and Ancilla in mechanical bodies, so the limits of biology are out the window and anything can happen. There’s bound to be Sentinels, maybe monitors (one in particular I see showing up) and the possibilities are endless for robotics. Also, Covenant, at least Elites, Jackals, Grunts and Hunters, will be making appearances somewhere and Brutes and Drones haven’t been explicitly denounced.

We’ve got a UNSC and a Covenant weaponset already established, much of which will return, and then we have a whole new weaponset of Forerunner arms, including a grenade type. We’ll have plenty to pick up, I think.

We probably haven’t seen all the Prometheans, and also in the full game they might make the Suppressor lootable off of Crawlers.

Hopefully AI variants don’t count as the 7 Promethean enemies. We’ve already seen crawler and Knight Variant. That would be 5 enemies, but I doubt they are including variants.
