you forget most people on these forums never read past the first paragraph…
Excellent post, agree with everything. I’m tired of seeing all these people saying that we need to “change” and “adapt”. Telling people like us who helped build this series into what it is(or what it was) to get out. These people who started out with Reach and think they know what Halo is about, how it plays, how it feels. Drives me nuts, if there was nothing ever wrong with the game then why the hell would you change it? We criticize cod for not changing, but why would they? The fans love it, it works for them. Why should halo change? I always played Halo because it stood out from Cod. Halo should be Halo, and Cod should be Cod. I want this series to succeed, and I want 343 to succeed. However, it seems like they really don’t give a -Yoink- about bringing back what made Halo(like they said they would). There more concerned with trying to entice the cod population, and leaving the actual Halo fans in the dark.
That post is long, so it must be golden.

Ignorance at its finest. If you don’t have anything useful to say, don’t say it at all.

Unfortunately at this point i’m just keeping this thread alive for the sake of keeping players informed about the Halo formula that ascended the series into fame. I have a feeling nothing will change in our favor with Halo 4.
I’ll also keep this alive in the hopes that one day 343 will see this thread, read it and understand it, and make the correct decision for the next installment. I know this isn’t some almighty thread, but it has illustrated major points that provide insight on the glories of the 2001-2010 years.
Thanks for posting, by the way.
I’m not holding my hopes up for H4 any longer. Even with this supposed “major” update in January, the damage is already done. We can all hope for H5, but in all honesty, 343 is going down a path in which I just can’t follow.
I really don’t like the camping nature halo 4 promotes. Never have I been shot down by camping camo snipers before so much. It’s just absurd so many bad players use this cheap and lame tactic. Let’s not forget if you crouch then camo no indication on your radar that a camo player is near you is to be found.
Personal ordinances make camping even worse with personal sniper getting delivered every minuet. What compounds this is with no de-scoping players can camp with snipers across the map and never get de-scoped even after you’ve shot them a few times. So they can just casually kill you since they have no consequences anymore of de-scoping when hit.
It truly is baffling that the game has allowed such things and worse every match is plagued by these cheap players since they know if they actually tried to play and not camp they would get owned.
Halo is no longer a thinking man / woman’s game. It’s just go go go go go and go. You play like you are on crack go some more don’t think run around like mindless chickens and so on.

Post “Approved”.
> We live in an age of entitlement, where everything you want is given to you instantaneously and empathy is nearly dead.
You go on to bash the OP, but your statement here applies to how Halo 4 was designed: players are given kills they haven’t earned, weapons they haven’t earned, powerful abilities they haven’t earned. Halo 4 is the pinnacle of player entitlement.
As they said in that movie The Incredibles, when everyone is super, no one is. Players who want to earn their fun are losing interest in the socialistic game style of Halo 4. Entitlement is definitely the problem here, I agree.

i think all your points make alot of sence, but i like how it is, armour abilities, your choice of an ability given to your spartan in a loadout, i love it
i think sprint is good, ord drops are fine

It certainly is ultimately up to the player to decide whether s/he enjoys the game. Whatever floats your boat.
I’m gonna bump this, long time since I’ve been in this post.
