My Observation

Disclaimer: I’m not sure if this was brought up in any other threads but I’d be more than happy to migrate my opinion there.

I’ve made a personal effort to not rant on here anymore and look at everything with an open mind. With that said, there is one thing that constantly eats away at me when I enter matchmaking. This thing is more than likely the bane of all halo players of all skill levels. This being the boltshot. It is, essentially, a mini shotgun that is available to you at all times since it is a loadout weapon. The only qualm I really have with it is the fact that everyone can potentially start with them. I’m sure every player has met someone who would hide in some obscure area of a map with camo and charge it up, waiting to pray on some unsuspecting spartan unfortunate enough to assume the premise that their were no campers. I really like what was done in the Forge Test where boltshots were placed around the map like needlers…it seemed more fair in my honest opinion.

I won’t say I want the boltshot nerfed because it’s perfectly fine…but it being a one shot kill makes it far too good a weapon to automatically spawn with it. I hear people all the time say they hate the thing but its too good not to spawn with especially in an enclosed map like Haven and Adrift.

I want your opinions though…maybe I’m overreacting. How have you guys felt about the boltshot?

It’s quite a common complaint around these parts, as we’ve all fallen victim to that camo camper.

IMHO, it’s a rare occasion that it happens to me. If some one is willing to be that patient for that one kill, so be it. I can usually rack up more kills while he’s waiting. Just remember, be tactical. Never charge around a blind corner. Put some distance between you and him, and where ever possible, send out a hologram first. It’s saved my bacon on plenty of occasions.

what i dont like its when the boltshot beats my scattershot / unsc shotgun and i left the guy 1 shot the gun needs a little range nerf in my oppinion its just silly to get killed by it when you use a real shotgun
