My mic can't hear or talk in gamechat in Halo: Reach - HELP!!!!

Recently my mic has stopped working in gamechat completely. But it is not because of the mic. I know it’s not the mic because I tried plugging it out and in and I still couldn’t hear and my mic works in gamechat with other games like MW2. It basically show that everyone is in gamechat with no mic. Please HELP!!

Go to your Audio and Video settings (when you press start), and make sure that you have nothing set to “Muted”.

If that doesn’t fix it, it sounds like a mute ban to me. Unfortunately, it seems that it’s impossible to get the mute ban removed. You have to hope that people will simply unmute you from the lobby.

Word on the street is, it expires with time. No one knows how long it takes, though.

@OP: Mute bans are, as you may’ve guessed, when you are muted by default for everyone you see. It happens if too many people manually mute you in-game. If you play the MLG playlist, you’re likely to be wrongfully mute-banned, because most people there mute the enemy team (there’s a setting to do that automatically without getting people mute-banned, but few are aware of it).
