My little nitpicks from the Campaign overview

I’m going to start by saying that the general looks of the overview were amazing. I really dig the open world aspect and hope that it is going to be as active and populated as shown.

That being said there were some things that stood out me as… not great. And yes this is going to be nitpicking:

The sparks beneath the wasp are just 2d sprites

The exploding Banshee debris misses some “oomph”. The body of the vehicle seems to follow the same trajectory as before seemingly unphased by the rockets that just impacted it.

Another example were the Elite inside just flies up unphased in a T-pose like fashion

The exploding Phantom leaves little to no debris at all in a very Halo 4-esque fashion.

Generally the enemy AI seem a bit lackluster and just stare at the Master Chief now and then but this could be because the video was shot on Easy difficulty.
The equipment upgrades with “Spartan Cores” and boss health bars seem a little un-Halo to me but could play out very well when we actually get hands on.

Shooting the generator should indicate that it is taking damage. A simple colour change would do. The first sniper shot did nothing:

No doubt they need to improve this spark of the wasp, that’s what bothered me. Some hitmarkers will be improved for sure.

I don’t doubt that the AI is sent on hyper easy mode for trailers. I wouldn’t gauge AI competence or difficulty on any trailer.

Just a note from the overview that I believe proves that they may have been running some janky settings for the trailer.

At this point in the video here, or soon after point with the second hit, the player should’ve died. But they didn’t, kind of like how training mode’s deathless works.

Because of that, I wouldn’t use the trailer to gauge how the real gameplay goes on.

(if the link doesn’t highlight, you may have to copy and paste.)

The gravity hammer once again just looks like a hammer. They might have increased the physics a little bit, but I’m still missing that special flinging ragdoll effect

Genuinely not trying to troll here but your comment should serve as proof that not matter what they do, someone else will dislike it. I feel they’ve taken care of the glaring issues and now people are down to their own personal wish lists.

There’s a part where Chief is blowing up that factory, and his health drops to 0% and he catches another plasma bolt. Trailer was shot in God mode, but also probably on easy. I’m sure it will play better than what we saw.

Thats what I tried the disclaim before my post. It’s a night and day difference from the trailer a year ago and these points, along with some other points people brought up, are just that final couple of % that could be improved upon.
