My list of reach fixes.

I know you have set in stone your TU, 343. But reach is too flawed to let these go unfixed. Thank God its only a year and a 1/4 to halo 4.

1.) Needler has insane damage-impossible to counter with AR, DMR, or pistol. unless you can evade backwards.
2.) jetpack goes too high and lasts too long, destroys map control by allowing people to jetpack over huge parts of the map.
3.) community maps-most are terribly laid out and have WAY too many power weapons.
4.) Armor lock-AKA armor luck. Do I even have to bother?
5.) bloom-Pacing my shots? guess what, it doesn’t work. Tired of getting killed by spammers.
6.) snipers being anti-vehicle-Isn’t it the opposite of what a sniper is designed to do? I have enough anti vehicle weapons to worry about.
7.) Falcon-not enough/fast enough communication between teammates. difficult to make teammates see the person you saw so that they could fire at him when you rotated toward him.
8.) Banshee-Stupid banshee bob with too much power. Bomb+upflip=broken.
9.) black screen messes up medals.
10.) Teammates quit-I rarely go through a match without someone missing.
11.) Rocket warthog-teammates fire to kill one person as someones driving, the driver drives right next to a rock or tree…yea…make it so you hold down the trigger for how long you want to fire, so you only have to fire 3 shots or so.
12.) black screens-disrupt gameplay way too much. Sometimes last like a minute and a half.
13.) Sniper aim assist.
14.) Scorpion can shoot people out of mid air. WAY too much accuracy. Hence why it was removed from hemorrhage.
15.) Spawn system. Theres something wrong when the other team can keep spawnkilling me for 3/4 of the match.
16.) Gauss warthog-can’t even be used in MM. needs fix.
17.) grenade. Mini nuke. You give people two, and they get spammed and abused. Id prefer for the other person to be able to kill me if they have skill, not grenades.
18.) plasma grenade. Not sure if you realized, but this does more damage then a frag. And no, not just when you stick it on someone.
19.) The lack of good maps-most are taken from campaign. Im tired of playing on community maps, which are the excuse for the lack of playable ones.
20.) sprint. Its fine for getting from point A to point B, but when people use it to run away, it gets stupid.
21.) Camo-getting nerfed? please, then, make it so it stops jamming my and my teammates radar. It’s the only AA that has a negative impact.
22.) the maps themselves-They are more compact. power weapons and vehicles are often more hidden. this causes teammates who camp them, causing betrayals and/or losses.
23.)maturity. Ive noticed a huge decrease in the amount of mature players from halo 3, and that is saying something.
24.) ranking system-based on playing time, not skill.
25.) DMR-wrecks face on warthogs, makes em flip. Grenades (should) make hogs flip, not single shot rifles.
26.) no skill gap-there just isnt, based on all the reasons and the more to be listed.
27.) double death. If I shoot someone with a shotgun and I get a kill, then they shouldn’t kill me. This applies mostly to living dead.
28.) Ghost-WAY too easy to splatter people. Too much boost. Its plasma weapons aren’t quite strong enough.
29.) Warthog-(chain) way too accurate with turret. Also way to easy to knock over with the DMR.
30.) Quit ban-is not doing anything. As I am writing this, I played a match not 15 minutes ago where 5 people (BTB) on my team quit. We proceeded to get spawn killed for the rest of the time.
31.) compensation for playing when people quit. If enough people quit, I start getting spawn killed. This results in a huge, huge negative KD spread. I don’t want or think that these matches SHOULD COUNT. I want them not to count or I want a bunch of credits. your choice.
32.) Camping-camping isnt looking out a window in a building and shooting people. Its sitting in a corner waiting for people to run past. Not sure if you guys have noticed, but this doesn’t require skill. This I think is more of a problem with the people playing reach, not reach itself.
33.) Firefight. The AI simply move left and right and fire plasma weapons. Avoiding grunts that can hit you out of mid air with a fuel rod gun is indeed a challenge. Is it fun? You tell me.
34.) Skirmishers are terrible for sniper attack. Its impossible to kill them. you might no scope a couple, but its impossible to zoom in, cause you keep getting hit by random plasma shots.
35.) its annoying when you get hit that you automatically zoom out. Maybe a toggle for this. Some people might find it helpful because it helps them find who shot at them. Often it ends up being the guy im shooting at that hit me, so I can’t even get a damn shot off because I cant zoom in. He manages to stay zoomed in because I can’t get a shot off. I know its been in halo, but I never had as much as a problem with it before…IDK why.
36.) kill times. AAs in reach make them last forever. Especially when you lose a kill because someone Armor lucks (and yes, I will be referring to that throughout this post) or sprints away behind cover, or jetpacks to another floor when I need one more hit.
37.) the lack of documentation of weapons. Sounds stupid, but you would not believe how many people I have come across that didn’t know that you could time detonate the grenade launcher, or block the energy sword, (which thankfully is getting removed), or that the DMR became more inaccurate the faster you fire. This means MORE uneducated players. (AKA noobs)
38.) good ol revenant aim assist sniper glitch. Allows for killstreaks without skill. Why does it matter you ask? Why should anyone be able to kill without skill? Same goes to bloom, and mini nukes, and plasma grenade shedding.
39.) Half the time when I press the RB to beat down, it assassinates anyway. Increase the amount of time you must hold the button down. Assassinations are no more than a risk. Why should I be forced to take it?
40.) Also make the amount of time you must hold down to detonate the Grenade launcher LESS. sometimes it doesn’t detonate, it just assumes that I meant just to press it. The first rule of writing is “Never assume.” that should apply to everything.I will continually update this post. I am hoping to have 100 things. I know there are, I just haven’t haven’t been playing as much so I don’t remember.Feel free to add anything or counter any of my arguments!

Armor Lock isn’t “kinda” being nerfed, it’s being made so a grenade stick will still kill the guy using it. Also, taking damage in AL will eat away at remaining AA time. So it’s being hugely nerfed, and in a good way. Sword block is still there, but only another sword can block a sword lunge (excellent fix).

Jetpack goes high, but the trade-off is that the user becomes a big target for everyone to shoot at. Trouble pacing your shots: just worry about keeping the reticle on your enemy’s head and you’ll do fine. Anti-vehicle snipers: by the time you wreck the vehicle you only have 3 or 4 shots left.

Falcon: let the gunners worry about spotting targets, you as the pilot need to focus on evading incoming fire. Rocket Hog Race: if you’re the driver, avoid obstacles; if you’re the gunner, point the turret away from obstacles if the driver gets too close; if you’re the passenger, too bad about either scenario. Wraith can also hit people in midair; Scorpion was removed less for its midair accuracy and more to avoid spawn-killing from across the entire map.

Higher damage with plasma grenade: I should think so, it was invented by a far superior race. Sprint for running away: if you were about to lose a gunfight, would you try to recharge your shields and try again, or just let the other team gain a point? Camo nerf: mainly to keep people from camping with a sniper rifle and getting easy kills.

Maturity of players: good luck trying to get people to act their age in an anonymous setting. Ghost being too fast & plasma not strong enough: hey, looks like it’s balanced, it trades firepower for speed. Warthog chain gun too accurate: it’s got three barrels, meaning triple the rate of fire with one-third the required cooldown rate, so of course it’s accurate. I would hope machine guns are accurate by 2553.

Skirmishers in Sniper Attack: use your pistol/melee up close. Kill times take forever due to AAs: see what I wrote about Sprint; people want to survive to avoid the other team getting a point, and to try and change the outcome of the encounter. Lack of weapon documentation: more noobs means more kills for you, why is this a problem? Assassination risk: no one is forcing you to take the risk; if you feel that strongly then just try shooting them or throwing grenades. Here’s tip: tap RB to melee assassinate, hold RB to do the animated assassination.

plasma grenade: with all due respect, gameplay is more important then story realism in MM.
Jetpack: When someone is above you, their head hitbox is much, much harder to hit.
About all the others, i see your points. Those are all opinional things and people will have their different opinions. I never have a problem with overheated warthog though. it can fire for wayyyy too long before it overheats.

The head hitbox is harder to hit, but everything else is easier to saturate with damage from multiple people. People not directly underneath can still hit the head anyway.

Problem is, He can place a grenade and 2 headshots (easily) and get a double kill if there are two people. Im talking about a map like the cage…which is dominated by jetpack.

The Cage sucks, and so does Uncaged. I hate that map no matter what abilities are available, or what gametype is being played.

The Cage should only be used for matches utilizing shotgun and/or sword, and nothing else

> 1.) Needler has insane damage-impossible to counter with AR, DMR, or pistol. unless you can evade backwards.

Plenty of people can evade the Needler (it’s got a pretty small clip as well).

> 2.) jetpack goes too high and lasts too long, destroys map control by allowing people to jetpack over huge parts of the map.

He can’t crouch in the air. Infantry has the advantage over the guy hovering in the air.

> 3.) community maps-most are terribly laid out and have WAY too many power weapons.

I like Select, Renegade, & Treasury…Temptation, Trident and Utopie are at least better than Reach’s shipped BTB maps (god knows the playlist needs the variety).

> 4.) Armor lock-AKA armor luck. Do I even have to bother?

This one’s getting fixed (way more than I ever thought it would/could be)…and what with several playlists that offer non-AL fun, it was sort of a non-issue anyways…

> 5.) bloom-Pacing my shots? guess what, it doesn’t work. Tired of getting killed by spammers.

Well, while I certainly had more fun with the BR, I have no real problems with how the DMR works. I could see how people can not like it though (the NR more than makes up for any sore feelings I have about it, myself)…

> 6.) snipers being anti-vehicle-Isn’t it the opposite of what a sniper is designed to do? I have enough anti vehicle weapons to worry about.

I think the thought behind this one was more like, “How can we get them to waste more Sniper bullets?”.

> 7.) Falcon-not enough/fast enough communication between teammates. difficult to make teammates see the person you saw so that they could fire at him when you rotated toward him.

Sounds more like an error on the part of the pilot not knowing the gunners’ sight-lines…I DO hate whatever the radar is doing when you’re in the Falcon though, but that may be just me not knowing wtf it’s trying to tell me.

blah blah blah…too long, someone else can take a few or feel free to ignore some with me…

The funny thing is your “list of fixes” are just rants and complaints (though a few are quite notable, and those are getting fixed in the TU). Many of your complaints have to do with other players, jsut because these other players may not have the knowledge of Reach as you or I, they have a right to Play the game as much aas you or I, remember video games are mean’t to be FUN! not competetive, and I think Reach accells at both FUN and competetive play. (way more fun then Halo 2 that is lol)
