The last week I had unlocked the katana from Halo 3 by getting 1000 points on gamerscore, but by some reason when I unlocked another achievement from the game my katana disappeared, please help.
The Xbox 360 Servers have been having issues for months now. It’s been causing issues with armor unlocks, EXP and games counting on service records, and a few other issues. It’s not just Halo 3, its a ton of games on Xbox 360. I’m sorry to hear that it’s disappeared. Hopefully Microsoft will address the issues, sooner rather than later, and the servers will be back up and running. Be patient and hang tight.
I had this exact same issue a decade ago. The fix I found was to unlock the original set of achievements. Unlocking some more of the post launch achievements might bring it back, but unlocking all the original achievements will make sure it never leaves again.
Yeah this was always an issue even during the “glory days”. The only way to 100% ensure you always have the katana is to max out the Gamerscore on Halo 3, i.e. 1750G.
The 360 servers are a mess currently. Tens of thousands of players are still active however. So maybe Microsoft will patch them up.

It’s my understanding that having 1000 gamerscore in Halo 3, along with 49 achievements, guarantees that you keep the katana chest.
Halo 3 was notorious for having issues with armor disappearing even during it’s hay-day. I remember people saying if you have 1000 gamerscore and the original achievements it won’t bug out but with the current state of Xbox 360 Live servers I don’t know how well that’ll hold up. I hopped onto ClassicH3 a couple days ago and I still had my armor but I’ve had it disappear before.
