My iteration on Yapyap changes for his CF's

The thing that makes Yapyap overpowered is his no-cost Cannon Fodders. Clearly, the best way to adjust them would be to add on a price tag to them, but we don’t want him to completely lose his “free units” aspect. To this end, I propose the following tweaks to the basic Cannon Fodders.

  • Cost increased from 0 to 20 supply.
  • Damage against neutral Sentinels increased slightly (no extra damage vs Anders’ Sentinels).
  • Harvest rate slightly increased.
  • Anklebiters tech now reduces the cost of Cannon Fodders by 10 Supply in addition to its base effect.
  • Refer A Friend further reduces the cost of Cannon Fodders by an additional 10 Supply (putting them at 0 cost) in addition to its base effect.

By tying cost reductions for CF’s onto the upgrades for Cannon Fodders, you can have them cost Yapyap something early on, but then become free in mid-to-late game depending on his tech choices. This would help a lot in preventing him from auto-winning attrition wars.

The only part I disagree with is an adjustment to the harvest rate. If anything it should decrease to be more proportional per cost to the grunt and marine. It would need to be both a balance of value and starting unit numbers.

Or we could just leave it alone. CF’s already harvest terribly slowly.

Perfect. Again except for the harvester part… I would really like to see this implemented though. Free CF off the bat isn’t great for balance. 15-20 supply tops.
