My issue with Halo 5

By no means do I hate Halo 5. It’s a fun game. There are things about it that I don’t like but I can put up with it and still have fun. But those things aren’t entirely why I have an issue with this halo. My problem with this halo is how it’s more of a twitch shooter than a strategic game that requires you to think problems out instead of relying on reflexes. It’s something I’ve noticed a little more now that I play more games on my Xbox. My issue with fast paced games (at least the past few that have come out) is that they don’t give you any time to breath. The constant action requires you to constantly be doing something. Maybe you run to cover but right as your shields are about to recharge, a nade flies past you and knocks your shield done. Now in early halo games you could think about what you were going to do next. You had to think critically but by no means could you spend a minute thinking about, know it had to be quick thinking but thinking all together. In halo 5 it’s pure reaction. The moment your shields are down you need to do something. Either throw a nade back or retreat and it’s all up to reflexes. Reflexes that sometime just act without thought and now you’ve boosted right in front of a guy and you have no shields. You can figure out how that ends. The game can be quick and all, but part of halo was its strategic thinking.

You can thank sprinting and all the zany movement mechanics for this shift in gameplay.

Yah I agree. The minute your boots hit the ground your in a battle from start to finish. No rest for the wicked in this game. Players are on top of me before I know it! I would call it more then a fast past game! Halo on steroids! LOL

And it wasn’t like this before sprint?

It still feels the same to me. Getting shot at you either die or get to cover and have a nade tossed at you.

Halo 5 has you getting shot at and maybe you boost away to have a nade fly at you.
Halo has never been strategic

This just isn’t true at all. Speak for yourself I guess.

This is also completely false. Not sure if serious

Nope.

I guess I’m speaking from personal experience but that’s just what it feels like to me.

I personally like how much more intense each match feels. If I need a break from arena, I’ll play btb or warzone or fiesta etc to “relax” more during the game
