Basically, the reason Ranks were taken out of Halo: Reach was due to De-rankers.
There is a simple fix to this: You can’t de-rank.
But to make it more competitive, you can derank from your highest scored level in that playlist by a maximum of say 3 ranks. So if you hit the 50 mark, you can only go down to 47 and never any lower.
This allows you to still go down if you perform badly, and will then give you something to strive for.
The arena was a good idea in theory but it’s not fun at all when put into practice.
Ranks need to be put back into Halo in my opinion and I believe that this would eliminate the deranking plague. It won’t get rid of smurf accounts, but that doesn’t really matter as a smurf can be avoided and they’ll be a higher rank very quickly.
