My idea for halo 4's story

Opening scene-

Master Chief crash lands and wakes up after falling from ship. He must go in a quickly retrieve Cortana before getting back out. He is standing on a jungle world with several forerunner structures scattering the landscape. He begins exploring when a whirring sound is heard nearby. Then, a monitor/sentinel/ something else comes and inspects the crash. Many more then come and are looking around before spotting master Chief. At first, he appears as ‘friendly’ before being labelled as ‘threat’ or something like that (possibly due to destroying the Ark and killing Sparky). He then fights them off and continues to walk around. After a bit, a ‘flood’ is spotted, and it advances towards Chief. However, something kills the flood and causes the other flood monsters to flee.
Dialogue:

Chief: Cortana…?
Cortana: Careful, John…

Chief then comes across a shrine, with a large brownish rock as the centerpiece.

Dialogue:

Chief: What’s this?
Cortana: Not flood… or forerunner. I suppose we’ll find out…

Suddenly, this rock thing opens up into a huge lobster-like alien (Precursor/?), climbs down towards Chief, getting very close towards his face and speaks.

Precursor: Reclaimer… wait…

It then sees through Chief’s Armour and realizes he is human.

Precursor: Human! You dare tread on forbidden ground! Your predecessors banished us here! The forerunners shall pay for this! Your end is near, ‘Starchild’!

He closes in on Chief before a beam hits it and knocks it backwards. It then retreats and escapes. Chief turns around and comes face to face (well, helmet to helmet) to a forerunner. It then explains how this world is a prison to hold the Precursors before they destroyed the galaxy all together, and the forerunners here are the last of their kind, guarding the prison world from all.

That’s the opening level as I predict it to happen.

By the way, ‘starchild’ means that we are the evolutionary children of the forerunners. Like the real-life theory that Earth is the ‘planet of the children’ and humans are the by product of early man/ alien DNA. Making us that species ‘children’.

Do you like this? Do you not? Discuss.

I suppose that we’ll find out Holiday season 2012 . . .

Honestly I would be disappointed if we were fighting Precursors or Forerunners. Both had so much more tech. than Humans do, I just dont see a possibility of even the chief being able to fight back.

The idea is good. But i wouldn´t choose to show the precursor at start. It could be some creature that was created by them. I don´t wanna use speculated names here (yeah ‘names’ plural; cuz i heard a lot). The creature was created by the precursors (similar to the flood) but looks totally different.

That means: there could be more of these bizarre creatures in other forms, too. And there could be more created spezies by the precursors. May be human-like ones, too. (To replace some covernant races as enemy*).

Also that would keep the precursors on a high enemy-level, if they dont attack you in directly. Much less in the first level. And: it would keep them more mysterious.
These are my suggestions.

The rest is totally O.K. especially the dialoge between chief and cortana. It creates a realy familiar Halo-CE-Tension. That means you did a realy good job at this point.
Also: you should keep the name ‘starchild’ for the precursors. They realy need an own vocable-pack.
Imagine: they created tons of species; so it realy fits to call MC a “child”.

To the Precursors:
They could be evil, in a dry way arrogant and they have technologys that make them even supirior to the forerunners (in a specail way). I dont mean only spaceships and robots and so on: they can control nearly each subatomic-part to construct things… like species… hostile species.
May be the whole flood and forerunner war story was like a game for them. The flood was like a part of their sadomasochistic (war-)puzzle. I dont wanna explain the theodicy-questions with the precursors now. That should be only one aspect of their character.

Sounds realy bad for MCs situation with this enemy:
So (imo) neiter MC nor Forerunners can kill Precursors so easily.

But the key to kill them is, to be incalculable.
Like acting in simple, fast tricks:
Imagine this situation: (its a kinda funny one, but shows good what i mean:)

MC stand before a Precursor.
Precursors just tried to kill MC with some creatures. MC killed the creatures and now points with a shotgun on the head of the precursor.

Precursor: Muahhaha. Your weapons are toys for us. They are useless VS my shielding. Your bullets will disappear before they hit me. Foolish Child.

MC shots one time… no hits on the Precursor… only a few hit the wall left and right of the Precursor.

Precursor: Haha… pathetic. Now you will be erasured…

The Precursor lifts slowly a hand with a bizarre weapon.

MC shots very fast now on the precursor. After the 5th or 6th shot, some of the bullets penetrate the disappearing area and the head of the precursor flies away.

MC: Well…
(MC looks at his shotgun.)
MC: … actualy worked!

MC turns to the dead precursor
MC (thinks to hisself): Oh btw, you should wait unit your shields reload… or was it not so perfect as you thought? And it was overloaded in a way? Well… who cares. As long as it works this way.

At all i think precursors should be rare and hard to kill in halo 4 *if they are there as an enemy). But they should be killable, no question.

Well… So much to the precursors by me for the halo 4 storyline; as add on for your opening.

(I hope i didn`t scratched the canon somewhere…)

well the covy had a toned down tech from the forerunner and the forerunner obliterated the precursors, so it wouldn’t be much a challenge for chief.

<//Forerunners [originally had access] to [Precursor] technology//>

Great ideas. I always thought MC would become some inter-galactic criminal after destroying the Ark.

I think it would be better if chief was awaken by Cortana like in the trailer but instead of going all the way to the front of the ship, maybe he will have a great view of where he is going as he holds on for a crash landing, somewhere during that or shortly after it will give him his new armor.

But I don’t think this really matters, 343 probably has more then just the basic outline for the story figured out.
