My hope for the pilot

I see in the campaign overview the pilot is a way to gain vehicles and traverse the map/fast travel. My hope is that the pilot actually plays more of a story role as well rather than JUST fast travel and gaining vehicles. I want him to actually be a significance to cheif and not just some side character for story purposes.

I mean, we saw this dude before we saw literally any other character in Infinite, and they went out of their way to show that he’s desperate and wants to see his wife again, so I’m sure he’ll be important.

That depends on what you think is significant. Serving gameplay purposes in a video game is pretty significant in itself, but it does seem like he will be akin to Chief’s sidekick. Narratively speaking, he seems to be filling to role of the “everyman” - just a normal guy reluctantly caught up in things bigger than him, which is in stark contrast to both the stoic, duty-driven Chief and the innocent and naïve babytana. The way these three main characters are written is pretty clever when you think about it, because they are all very different from one another, so there’s a lot of opportunity for drama and humor.

This is the new generation of Pelican pilot assistance for Master Chief. They seem to draw tons of inspiration from Foehammer and now hopefully Brohammer will be involved throughout the story as he helps Chief complete the missions he has to do. But so much more involved than Foehammer even was back in CE. I think the pilot is going to have plenty of screen time and I’m eager to see more of him.

One of my few hopes for Halo Infinite’s story, is that Brohammer gets home to see his wife and child.
It’s getting so tiresome, and predictable, to emotionally build up a character like they did in the first campaign trailer, and then at the last minute to achieving their goal, they sacrifice themselves or the main hero slips up and it’s “their” fault the character was killed off for emotional shock points. It’s an overused cliché at this point.

Break from the norm and keep Brohammer alive to live with his family in happiness.

he’s basically a cortana replacement till he finds the weapon (my guess)

If he keeps dropping my vehicles from 20 metres up so they come predamaged, dude is gonna have a short, abruptly ended, involvement in the Infinite storyline.

Considering how the fan base is calling him Brohammer I’m assuming he will be at least honored as a fan favorite somehow. My guess is, more than E419 Foehammer and less than Sgt. Johnson.
If the game gets expanded upon I’m assuming he will still serve as the pilot for gameplay purposes. So he should stick around for a while.

Based on the little we’ve seen so far, I get the impression we’ll get a fair amount of him in the story. I just hope we get a complete story arc in the campaign with some sort of resolution. With Infinite being touted as a 10 year game, it would be so easy to end the initial launch campaign with some massive cliff hangar since it’ll be an ongoing story. When those credits roll I want to feel as if I experienced a whole story with a beginning, middle, and end. Not a “to be continued.”

People don’t understand the pilot, he cares deeply for his wife and so he’s basically doing anything he can to survive, he thinks if he can make it out of there alive he’ll see her again. The chances of him dying in my opinion is very low, unless he finds out his wife was killed by Atriox or something (then he goes on a revenge tour) I think he’ll be with you the entire campaign.

I wonder if we will need to protect him / escort him in some missions.
