My honest thoughts on Infinite after playing

Just to get straight to the point.

Things that need changed

  • Screen shake needs to go completely. There is an option to turn it off but it doesn’t seem to work. There should be 0 screen shake when sprinting, throwing nades etc
  • Aim assist for controller users needs a pretty significant increase. I plan to play on PC although I’m testing on Xbox and while I could string together some double and triple kills, it feels insanely difficult to aim with the aim assist as low as it is.
  • sometimes the AR and magnum felt quick and great and other times the enemy felt like a bullet sponge. I’m unsure if this is bloom (didn’t seem like it) or registration.
*I’m sure this will obviously be in the game but a BR start game mode is a must.
*I think this was probably to allow us to play around with more weapons but I’m not a fan of the spawns having varying weapons. On the one map you either get 2 commandos, 2 brs or 1 commando and 1 br to spawn in the 2 locations.

Things I’d like to see altered but not too important

  • I don’t like power weapons being called out. I prefer the player learns the timing and spawns on their own
*The commando feels a tad underwhelming. Once you get used to the burst type fire over holding down the trigger its more manageable
*Needler may be a tad OP but not annoyingly game breaking
*Movement feels good but slide jumping or slide canceling feels a little choppy.
*Gravity hammer feels a tad sluggish and also seems to have an aoe type of damage around you as opposed to a direct hit kill. I personally like the slight lunge and the kills when you directly hit the player

Technical issues
*It seems the game indicates its halfway over at 24 kills and nearing victory at 39. This is something to be expected I understand and really not a big deal at all.
*Bots are impressive and broken at the same time. At times, their intelligence was pretty cool but other times they either froze or just went crazy. They also do the same thing at the start of each game every time. This of all things is the least of any concerns and I really couldn’t care less.

Things I liked.
*The menu and the music are amazing. Puts me in such a great mood
*The final kill noise and hit marker pop like sound is beyond satisfying.
*Movement is fantastic
*gun play minus no aim assist is top tier
*The armor coating system actually seems pretty great
*The new weapons and designs are honestly impressively fun and really well thought out.
*The BR is the best in the series imo
*The game has its own feel. People compare it to halo 5 or classic halo and it doesn’t seem like any of that. It has the halo feel for sure but almost like a new and positive step to being it’s own Halo game not too far from the classic the everyone loves but enhanced in good ways.
*I personally like a more simplistic settings customization menu/options but if you take time and play around, there’s so much you can alter that you can get the game to feel exactly as you want it for every single weapon.
*grenades feel great. They aren’t busted like ce or h5 but are simply rewarding if well placed.

Overall
*if the first three things I mentioned are fixed before launch, I truly believe this will be the best Halo ever made. If not, the game will still be great but will be much more enjoyable to mouse and keyboard players.
*If you still have an OG xbox one, while it’s not really a must, I highly recommend getting the new xbox or a good PC. Jumping from fps games from a PC to my old xbox was pretty rough until I got more used to it. It’s worth the investment if you can do it.
