My honest opinion

Idk if I’m speaking out for everyone or myself when I say this but here I go. I honestly am not that excited for H4 because it seems like the creators are catering to the super competitive try hards. You know, I honestly like playing competitive but the way I seen the gameplay, it looks like the flow is a bit too fast paced, like call of duty. And that is the reason why I am not so excited for this game as much as I was for Reach. I like Reach because they have both small fast paced maps, and long range mid paced maps and gameplay. I am more of a mid paced sort of guy and do not like to play super fast games… But it seems like I’m going to have to adapt to it quickly to like H4, if not, I’ll stick with Reach and H3… Unless H4 has large or medium sized maps I will not like the game much… Anybody agrees?

Really? Because the competitive community is actually the less happy side rather than the casuals I think

The gameplay you were referring to was Infinity Slayer. That’s different than all of the other playlists and, especially different to the classic playlists. If I don’t like the new playlists, I’ll be simply playing the classic playlists.

Is multiplayer matchmaking the only thing that makes you excited for a game? Does the campaign (with the Master Chief), fifty free spartan ops mission, forge and custom games not excite you in the slightest?

You might want to reverse your opinion.

> Really? Because the competitive community is actually the less happy side rather than the casuals I think

Well the competitive community have to be greatful, every interview with 343i that I seen, they always mention how they created the maps with competition in mind. MLG players have to shut up and be greatful.

Same here, hit up some good old BTB.

actually its rather refreshing to hear an opinion like this considering almost all the opinion threads here say the exact opposite (catered to casuals).

Although the game looks much faster than other Halos it still looks very approachable as a casual. In the end I doubt the game will really be as competitive as 343 makes it out to be

I hope so…

WHAT??!?!? this pace seems steady to me and they are MLG players in the videos.

I believe you are mixed up…everything we’ve seen so far has been added for casual play. I hope 343 is just trying to stir up attention with the new features, and will give us more info on stuff like aim acceleration soon.

competitive players are not happy. well a lot that iv seen

Woah! The whole “343 are catering to casual players” argument just turn a complete one 180 (O.o)
On a serious note, can we knock off the whole “343 catering to” argument once and for all. This conversation has brought nothing but divisions within the Halo community that it really gets annoying. Of course, its your opinion, but re-write it in a way that doesn’t cause a backlash.

I almost got pissed off because you referred Halo 4 to Call of Duty, two different game’s,two different story,so don’t ever in your whole time being on the Halo forum’s ever talk about call of duty, that being said…Halo 4 going to kick A**!

Wha wha… wha… what??? Now to start pointing out faults in your post.

Most of the competetive community isn’t happy with Halo 4 so far. They don’t like a lot of the new additions 343i put in like weapon drop, P-vision, etc. On the other hand, the pros said it felt like Halo which is what we (the comp community) cares about.

You’ve seen gameplay on three different maps and maybe those are just fast paced maps. the games that you saw are also not the final product. God knows how your comparing it to CoD because the games are nothing alike.

Small and fast paced maps on Reach. I can agree with that one. Asylum, Zealot, and Countdown for example. Long and mid range maps, I can agree with that too. Boardwalk, Powerhouse, etc.

You say your a mid-range guy and don’t like to play fast paced games? Go ahead. A maps speed is defined by how the players play on it. The pros (I assume thats who you watched to get your information about the maps)that were playing it wanted to learn the map and spawns as fast as they could to gain an advantage. Thats why it was so fast, they weren’t making set-ups or doing any map strategy because it takes dozens of hours of play on a map to find the good ways to play it.

Just my opinion but I think your complaining is a bit premature.

Wait…that was the FAST gameplay?

OP, how big was that rock again?

Lately it hasn’t been much more then the competitive side giving up on life because Halo 4 isn’t a Grenade-BR-BXR game.

So much fail

I don’t hate Call of Duty, I hate the fans. The fans are the most discriminating, douchiest, hateful fans ever. As Halo fans we should not fall to their level, Call of Duty is a decent game if you’re into that style and the only problem I have with it is the fact that it hasn’t evolved.

And no, I am not a Call of Duty fan, that isn’t my style and I can’t get into the game

> Really? Because the competitive community is actually the less happy side rather than the casuals I think

If there was a Halo scoreboard in a competition between competitive and casual Halo players based on the Halo games it would read:

2- Competitive players

2- Casual players

Representing the competitve players, Cursed Lemon! Biggest CE purist in the world and hater of all Halo post H2. Check out his infamous H3 rant and other famous rants now on Amazon for 19.99+(49.99 if you admit to liking Halo 3).

Representing the casual players, Jonny the Turtle. Johnny has been playing Halo forever and owns a replica warthog as well as a “Halo reach Adapt manual” he uses to intelligently tell players to adapt to his preferred version of nooby Halo.

343 will decide with H4 who wins this epic war. Both sides are looking to bring home the Halo fanboy cup and secure the victory.
