Sorry for reaching out like this but I didn’t type this on my iPhone notes for 1 hour just so IG & Twitter could say “your caption is too long” lol. So hopefully someone can read this in regards to my IG post for the AMD Ryzen GPU sweepstakes Submission.
Looooonnnnng post coming up!!
I remember playing Halo Combat Evolved back in late 2001, a close friend of mines older brother had gotten it and one day when I was over their house him and his friends were all playing multiplayer split screen and they were kind enough to let me play! My first Halo match ever was played on Hang ‘em High and I don’t think I even got a single kill but I still had so much fun! Fast forward to March my Uncle bought me my very own copy of Halo CE. I was so happy I immediately opened it and played it with my cousins. I ended up getting pretty good at the game and I vividly remember one of my cousins getting upset because I used the magnum over and over to kill him. He said “you’re only good with one gun!” And I replied, “oh yea? I bet I can kill you once with every gun”. This took place on sidewinder and I did what I said I was gonna do, kill him with every weapon I could find
Fast forward 3 years later, Halo 2 was releasing and I remember the promos they had going on. From the posters to the commercials playing in the movie theaters! The hype was real and me and my cousin were excited! Once Halo 2 released, I only had $30 saved up. So me and my cousin asked our grandpa for $15 and he gave it to us! We then put our money together and gave it to my uncle and asked if he could buy it for us and he did! Me and my cousin stayed up all night and beat the game in coop in one night! Since then we made a promise to eachother to always beat the halo games together and play campaign together first! As a lot of us Halo fans, Halo 2 was everyone’s first online experience. For me, it was not sadly. We did not have internet growing up until I was a teenager but I had a close friend who had internet and I was lucky to play at his house. It’s true what they say about Halo 2 lobby’s…
Another 3 years pass by, by this point I already beat Halo 2 on legendary and knew that sniping was my favorite thing to do in a Halo game. I said that the Promotion for Halo 2 was hype but, the promotion for Halo 3 blew Halo 2s out the water!!! I was so invested in the Halo storyline that I would literally download Martin O’donnells composed songs before long car rides, close my eyes, and pretend I was a Spartan riding in a warthog going to face a covenant flag ship preparing to glass the surface. Halo 3 was like everyone else, the peak of my fandom. At this point my family could finally afford wifi and I was able to buy a 3 month Xbox live card from money I had saved up. I remember playing online with friends I made that I still talk to and play with to this day! Of course, my cousin had his own copy and Xbox and we managed to beat H3 on legendary our first go around. Halo 3 gave me precious memories that I hold close.
H3 ODST was a new experience that was very fresh! Funny story, I got this game by asking everyone I went to school with for a dollar. I thought “if I asked everyone at school for a dollar I can atleast get 60 people to give me a dollar” and it happened!
so many people to name to thank for blessing me with H3 ODST.
Firefight was so much fun!!! Especially playing as an ODST. I love the ODST culture because in my mind I know becoming a SPARTAN II would’ve been impossible because of the selection process but becoming an ODST would’ve been possible! So I can relate to that. ODST gave me very good memories. Going through the streets of new Mombasa was amazing. Good vibes in that game.
Reach hands down was probably the Halo besides 5 I was best at. I spent HOURS on this game. The game type Invasion was so fun to play! I wish they kept it going. I remember creating still shots with my cousin and we made our very own comic book from the screen shots we took. I had so much fun on Reach. I stopped playing once I reached the rank of Eclipse and stopped playing because I was in my senior year of high school
Years went by and no more halo games came out but I was able to get my fix by reading the entire first trilogy both evolutions books and the kilo trilogy with Ghosts of Onyx being my favorite book!
When I saw Halo 4 be announced I was sooooo excited I stood in line at GameStop and got a literal headache from the excitement. Me and my cousin waited in line together went home and beat Halo 4 before the sun came up

I don’t care what anyone has to say about Halo 4. The campaign was fun and good and the multiplayer was so underrated!!! I loved the scorpion. This was also the first halo in which the Battle Rifle and Assault Rifle were in the same game!!! Plus I was really good at it
ordinance drops were so clutch!! I remember getting into cover from a banshee once and I got a kill once I got into cover, I called in my drop for a SPNKR and got that banshee out the air! So many memories with 4
Once I knew 343 was back making games I was excited. The only gripe I had was the initial release of MCC… I was excited to get into MP after beating the campaigns especially the H2 remake which was beautiful. So beautiful I still watch the cinematics every now and then before I go to sleep. I’ve even gotten my daughter saying “Master Cheese” so yea she knows who John is lol. But now MCC is a 9.5/10! Play it almost every chance I can with my friends I started my great journey with in H3.
H5 came out and unfortunately a lot of people weren’t stuck to it like I was! I went through basic training for the Air Force a few months after it’s release so I didn’t get to play a lot but once I got out of BMT and into my dorm I had my Xbox sent to me and played it every weekend! I introduced some barrack buddies to halo and we would play every other weekend! Again, I do not care what people had to say about Halo 5 I loved every moment I played! Both campaign and MP. The fact that I played as blue team was awesome! Finally hearing Fred, Linda and Kelly and seeing them in action was a dream come true.
All in all I love halo man. So much that I’ve contemplated on my first tattoo saying “Make it Count” a saying from Halo Reach when Jorge-052 said to 6 before sacrificing himself. So many memories playing these games, listening to the music, and reading the books.
I’m so excited for Halo Infinite I put in leave for 2 weeks and told my wife and kids that I’ll be out of commission for a few days while I stop the banished
so many memories so many hours so much money spent on Halo Products ie mega bloks clothes stickers toys
I even bought the 360 Reach Edition Xbox, the Halo 5 Guardians edition xbox and LUCKILY managed to pre order a Halo Infinite Xbox Series X!
Doesn’t matter what 343 puts out I will always love Halo.
