As I suspected, playlists weren’t shown until the last minute so that everyone would still pre-order before finding out their playlist was removed.
My best friend and I have played doubles since Halo 2, and lots of it. It’s the most competitive and tactical team playlist in my opinion. There is a reason we haven’t bothered to play call of duty, and this was the reason. Now I see that doubles is no longer there and we have no reason to buy the game.
While I’m sure the campaign is good, it is still temporary and $60 is a lot of money these days. I’ll speak with my dollar and simply not purchase. If you are with me, please show your support. Tell 343 that while the game may be great, not giving the long-time fans their favorite playlists is an epic fail.
Even if a doubles playlist is added later, it’s still a slap in my face when I’ve showed support for this franchise for so many years. If it gets added, there will just be crappy forge maps for it like Halo Reach. Sigh… I’m just very disappointed. I really wanted to buy this game.
I agree that there are a lot of things that upset me about this game but this one I kind of understand. Well I should say I understand given what maps they have. Just go watch some walk-throughs on the new maps. Those would not be fun at all to play doubles on. Should they have made some smaller maps? Yes. But they like sprint for some unknown reason so we get stuck with large maps only.
If Doubles is added in at a later time, seeing as how major titles will stay at release price for months, even a year after launch, $60 isn’t that bad. But if you play JUST for Doubles, it does seem like a waste of money, in my opinion.

Not giving them support even if you don’t like launch playlists make 343 less likely to add them because you guys are acting childish. Just buy it and show some support. That makes it more likely they will actually listen to this part of the community.
Although I do understand your frustration, I think this issue solely is not a big enough deal for you not to buy it and lose all the fun that awaits you (both) in other playlists. Hopefully 343 will implement Team Doubles later, I used to like it myself back in Halo 3 too.
> I would still get it bud, as soon as doubles as added in you and your friend can play away as much as you like
Understood, but I can’t show discontent and still reward the mistakes by purchasing the product. I have to stand by my principles. Like I said, the game looks great, but it would only be temporary for a lot of people. I am accustomed to playing Halo doubles until the next Halo is out. There are always little things to be unhappy about. This one is too big for me to overlook.
If you play Halo for doubles, you might as well just use both hands. I don’t think people will miss you if you’re not buying a game simply because you feel a tiny bit offended when they don’t put in your preference at the start of the game life.

Um…he has every right not to buy the game. That’s not childish, that just being the consumer. I’m not even really taking his side on this, I’m buying it day one despite some of the disappointments, but he wants to hold off for now that is his choice and I respect that.
Team Doubles always got added at a later date. It happened in 2. It happened in 3 and it happened in Reach. Just wait until they add it, I done that with Reach and 3. God.

I don’t think you get it. This was my only playlist. I have 10 days in Halo Reach doubles right now. It would be like taking away 4v4 for you. Speaking hypothetically, would you still play if it wasn’t there? They aren’t going to miss me, but I would hope that I would at least be appreciated for my years of support. There are a lot of others doubles players out there.

What? It was there at launch with all those games. I had them on day one.
Whilst I sort of like team doubles, I disagree that it is the most competitive and tactical playlist. It is basically a slow campfest, where one team gets the power weapons and just camps with the lead, making the other team come to them and get killed, and as it is only 2v2, one power weapon can dominate the other team.
This isn’t a problem in 4v4 because a good team swarm can overcome pretty much all camping strategies.
I will mourn its passing, but I will not struggle to find other things to play rather than team doubles. It hasn’t been up to par since H2 really anyway…

If you only play doubles, then that is just kinda of sad in my opinion. I think you need to start trying to play other playlist.

Respect your opinion but I humbly disagree. Playing doubles makes better players. You learn to effectively deal with the power weapons. The only major power weapon is rockets, and the ammo is limited to 2 rounds in doubles. Either way, it doesn’t matter. It’s gone now.

Not gone my friend, just waiting in the shadows to make a return, which it will, just like reach

Lol explain why he is acting childish. He simply doesnt want to pay 60 bucks for a game which has little replay value for him. As costumers we have the right to complain and criticize a product.
You guys here act like we should thank 343 for making Halo 4. They are making a living on our money, we can tell them what we dont like.
