My roommate and I played through Halo 1 LASO on separate consoles at first, after Truth and Reconciliation, I noticed the game didn’t give me credit for it for completing the level with the “blue bars” in the playlist menus. My friend was able to start from the silent cartographer as party leader and we powered through it. After beating it, its as if the game corrected itself and gave me credit for Truth and Reconciliation. With paranoia levels in my brain spiking, my friend moved his account to my console and we played split screen the rest of H1 LASO. As luck would have it, I got full credit and achievements for completing the playlist, though I had my doubts the game would give them to me because of the bug earlier in the playlist. Sounds like a happy ending? No. My Nightmare, Cairo Station LASO. This level is a outrageous, every action must be planned and executed with precision. Foolishly my friend and I tried this level on weekdays after work, the result was us getting halfway through and quitting due to having jobs we had to wake up early for. 3 attempts each lasting 4 hours, that we optimistically called practice, before our final 4th attempt in which we were successful on this hell spawn level. After watching the cutscene for outskirts, we saved and quit. Upon trying to pick up where we left off, the playlist resume was set at The Armory, forcing us to replay Cairo Station. The Armory is not even a level accessible under Cooperative. We weren’t even angry, it was a constant fear that the game was going to bug out and screw us in someway due to its flawed history. Matchmaking didn’t work at launch and you couldn’t even invite a friend to play campaign cooperative. Those problems have all seemingly been fixed and I forgave the issues. This playlist problem in my opinion is the final issue with the game that 343 has yet to address. I have been a fan since the original Halo in 2001 and have every achievement for the console titles. (God help me even Halo Wars) As painstaking as it sounds, I planned to get every achievement for this game as well, with only 73 more out of 600 to go. 343 is wasting loyal fan’s time. I am currently about to embark on an action that falls under the definition of insanity… I am playing with both my and my friends account on my Xbox One to complete Cairo Station LASO while he is at work, he will most likely abandon completing Halo 2 LASO otherwise. I know this post will be unread and filed under just another complaint, but I needed to type it and leave it out there for therapeutic reasons. There’s a simple solution, have the levels in a playlist be selectable with 343’s set stipulations. It shouldn’t matter if I beat the entire LASO playlist out of order as long as I select said levels under the playlist 343 set. I will gladly repeat a level I didn’t get credit for under a playlist, but 343 is out of their damn minds if they believe I’d restart Halo 2 LASO over again after progressing all the way to the 13th level. Please fix this 343, before all focus goes to Halo 5.
