It’s like the Destiny community because negativity? Were you around for Halo 4 and Reach? MCC? Not to say the negativity was always uncalled for, ESPECIALLY for MCC. But negativity has been community. When Halo 2 first came out everyone was butt hurt the pistol was gone, the glitches, the ending, the Arbiter, dual wields, etc.
When a new game releases all the “cry babies” Coke to forums to complain. Give a week or two and they’ll be gone. I’m enjoying this game.
Sometimes when I visit the forum it’s like being back on the colonial marines site lol.
Forums are always full of negativity. The people who actually like the game are too busy playing it to post here.
It’s all part of the forum cycle.

Haha!
That’s nothin’ compared to the “adapt” threads about armor-lock and bloom.
I usually just think like this; halo = awesome - even the worst halo is better than 70% of the games out there - and the lore is awesome.
The people that complain have some kind of other though/view of halo than I do, they expect rekk and MLG so when thrown into something that’s supposed to be fun and not pro they can’t seem to handle it and complain, usually these people are under 18. The real core audience that 343 is aiming at is somewhat different than them and divided into two camps imo; halo-nerds like myself that read and watch everything like lets say a star wars nerd and we love games all around.
Second group is the same but they want the old halo, they still want to finish the fight like we got told in Halo 2 and usually write better opinions here with some good and bad for the games.
Halo is nostalgia for most of us, we have 10 some what years of our lives, good times, bad times, compiled into one man/game. If we want the generic FPS experience we play CoD. The 5-10% angry vocal people is the ones that are heard tho, and that’s a shame.
Halo is not just a game anymore, it’s a franchise.
A damn good one.

Not sure I agree. The main forum I go on (KSP) is very positive and the people are always friendly and helpful.
@iCatScopeZ
My point was that even with what many consider to be the best game in the franchise, there were tons who complained
At the same time, I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss every criticism or generalize people with criticisms. I’m not saying all of it is well thought out and made with reasonable intent, but it’s just as bad to act like none of it has merit.

That seems to be what gaming forums are nowadays

There will be negativity no matter where you go
Let’s put it this way, this forum is the most negative one I have been to, and that’s saying something.
I don’t know why its like this, but the halo community, at least the vocal part have gotten more picky, and well, less of a community in the past 3-4 years.
People are just frustrated with the install issues at the moment, it will calm down don’t worry. 343 havent -Yoinked!- us over like Bungie/Activision did with Destiny players
EDIT: Spelling
It’s the gaming community as a whole, a lot of us are very vocal about what we don’t like. What got me about the Destiny community was how people felt that they ‘earned’ some of the exotic weapons, and whined/complained when Xur sold said weapons.

Yup, remember that like it was yesterday. Lol all those superbouncing kids.
Maybe I should hire a twelve year old to follow me around calling me a -Yoink- so I can relive the glory days.
Edit: I was once one of those kids. Damn.
Halo 5 does more right than wrong. It’s an awesome shooter with a balanced multiplayer and a campaign you’ll enjoy far more if you follow the expanded universe. Also I can’t think of a single forum for a game that wasn’t completely full of more complaints than compliments. If you already own the game and are forming your own opinion, then there’s really no reason to care about the opinions of reviewers, fans, trolls, or people who just genuinely dislike the game.
Halo has got one of the best communities out there, I doubt anything could break it as it lived through MCC
OP, this happen at every single halo release since a long time ago. If this is any similar to the previous games, the hate and Destiny Community vibe should go in Februaryish.

The MCC had a bad launch, but it’s a great game.
