Hey all!
So! Halo Infinite… It’s been awhile! Last time I played Halo consistently was when Reach came out on 360. I myself haven’t enjoyed Halo 4 and that’s where I lost interest. I didn’t like actually playing Halo 5 but you can bet I watched every single Halo Championships! I got into firefight on Halo 5 tho, that was a good mode for sure!
Anywho rambling on, just wanted to tell you about myself so you can understand the real impact this excitement has done to/for me! First off I’m 25, I’ve been diagnosed with chronic depression, severe anxiety, BDP (Borderline Personality Disorder), agoraphobia, etc. There really isn’t anything interesting in my life at all. My life consists of staying locked in my house wondering if today’s the day. I first discovered gaming and halo when I was about 6/7? It was Christmas day and my cousin just got an Original Xbox with Halo 2. What’s Halo I asked. My life has since changed. Back then Game ratings actually mattered, I wasn’t actually able to buy my own Xbox until Halo 3 was a couple years old. I worked hard every summer working for my grandfather doing home renovations, 83 and still hard at work for anyone! RIP pops. Eventually I earned enough to get myself an Xbox 360 and Halo 3! For two years all I played was halo. Not really competitively but customs and campaign! After reach… everything just fell apart.
I’ve had to seek help for my mental being, there has been a few attempts, really everything was just plain. I had no motivation for anything, I didn’t eat, didn’t sleep, I just laid in bed for weeks at a time. This is when I started getting help. Anywho, depressed stuff blahblahblah, were now June 2020, Just had one of those days and had to call my fiance up. We laid there watching youtube and out of nowhere I see “Halo Infinite Trailer”. My eyes light up like a child on Christmas. What is this sensation I am feeling? Much strong mana yesyes! As I click the thumbnail, my eyes focus on the screen as the title “343 Industries” pierces through my soul! A glance of hope! Is the Bungie family back together!?
despite the negative feedback anyone who grew up to halo doesn’t care about the graphics and all those complaints! If they don’t like it don’t buy it, plain and simple. Anyway back to my story. This is meant to be I thought. I just got myself a new graphics card as I wanted to start playing on pc now. I now for the first time in god knows how long I truly am so very excited for something and actually have something to look forward to. I know it sounds very nerdy and dumb, but I am learning a new console with the game that first introduced me to gaming. It may not mean much to say thank you for all you’ve done for keeping Halo alive, for actually listening to the players. Just on a side note, my story is real, it obviously didn’t cure me of everything lmao. But truly thank you 343 as you really did give me something to look forward to.
There’s been many ups and downs but all the work and effort seen just in the first 8 minute gameplay is just mind blowing. Of course things will be different when released it’s nice to see the current updates. The HUD is beautiful, the heavy bass…ie, thud from the gun fires is just and -Yoink!- to my ear hairs. I was iffy when I saw the grapple at first but when I seen the explosive cans weren’t OP and just one would destroy the turret… I definitely Fudge with that! I can see that scenery is a big thing for the campaign as well and it’s beautiful when we have those open areas where it’s just a beautiful landscape. I honestly do not have a single complaint to give you guys…
And to end this off… I have but one request. I hope others agree and like my suggestion. Just like in Halo 3 with the recon helmet. I really would like to have another real long grind for some more vidmaster achievements! Like maybe two versions one a little less of a grind and one just like weeks or months of grinding? Obviously most won’t agree with the grinding part but just as someone that wants to play nothing but Halo Infinite, It be pretty cool to have a long term grind reward to show off other than a rank.
