TrueSkill2 had a weighting for kills per minute to reflect a bit on individual performance.
We don’t know if Infinite uses the same weightings.
No disrespect intended but the placements look fair to me having checked your stats. Rankings are based on a lot more than just W/L, and I can see that you’ve already levelled up to S4.
One of the reasons you have placed so low is that your accuracy is low and have an overall negative KD. Rankings take all that into account plus other playing style factors such as movement, kill types, who you played against…and you also have a high number of suicides and games left.
Your friend on the other hand has a decent KD and much better accuracy, however hasn’t played many games.
You will both find your natural level once you play more games.

I’m grindin here. Gold 3 rn, In no world should it place me bronze 6 after winning every single match. it only took account of my overall kd. It’s like that because i let games run to get xp when they didnt add the challenges. I have so many games left because it kicks you for being afk. It completely disregards how you preform in your placement matches and only cares about your overall kd.
it’s my overall KD, because i have over 230 matches played and a lot were just sitting so I can get xp so my kd is -Yoink!- because of that and that’s the only thing it considers when ranking you
I lost most of mine, placed in platinum.
I mean, I got placed Plat with garbage accuracy. Normally I’m around 20% lol. I think it’s because I primarily use the BR and take a shot even if I see someone across the map where a bullet has a low chance of landing, much less all 3. I’m pretty sure it only takes personal KDA into account.
Also, the game decides what your “normal” performance (aka average KDA) and stacks you against it. So if you do really well usually you have to be exceptional to gain rating. Valorant has a system like this that sticks people in ELO hell often.
this game is in beta. they’ve said time and time again that these forums are not to place to report bugs. Your heart sank? Thats hilarious.
Sorry but I don’t and can’t have any sympathy for you if you’re intentionally being AFK to get XP. I hope you didn’t ruin other players games and enjoyment with your behaviour in those games.

Are we sure it’s ranking based on KDA alone? I had plenty of objective matches leveling up through diamond where I went very negative but won and gained rank. I was assuming it was looking at a bunch of factors, not just one stat.
It doesn’t take overall KD, it takes the stats from the 10 ranked placement matches. The game could be bugged and it’s taking other stats outside those 10 games, but its supposed to be you play the 10 games and get ranked off of those stats.
You had good stats besides the accuracy and headshots. You and your friend should of been high silver low gold I think. Could of also punished you for all the afk, don’t do that in real games do that in bot matches if you really have to.

And we don’t know it’s evolved since then.
In Halo 5 if you entered a new playlist it assumed a starting rank from one of your previous playlists. Could it be possible that they took the seeding MMR from the Quick Play - and all the AFK games starting them way behind the eight ball?
It’s possible, didn’t know H5 worked like that. Would make sense if they carried it over.
I wouldn’t admit to afk farming on this forum…
I lost like 9/10 of mine, I also thought I was doing pretty bad but I ended up with diamond.
I guess it takes into account kills, objective, your performance overall including against your team etc.
I’m glad it’s not on wins and loses though, be garbage if placements worked that way as a solo.
