So im spending a lot of time on forge, trying to make my 1st map and really enjoying it but i have an issue. when id got the basic layout of the map im building done i saved it as like a backup file incase i made some major error and couldnt undo it. so i made a new save of this and everything was good, carried on and everything was fine. i had my new file and my backup, but it seems like when i get so much done (about 250 objects) the file name wont load, i just get a message saying “retreving data” iv even left it, gone away for 20 mins but the file wont load its name, the map will load but it’ll just say forge when loading, no map name, same if i try to play it in a custom game, pretty annoying after i spent all that time on it. so i thought id go back to my backup file and start again from there even though id be losing hours of work, and same again, when i get to about 250 objects on my map, save it and go back, the file name wont load, i just get the message “retreving data”. really annoying little issue, anyone know how to fix this please?
While I haven’t had this issue yet, have you tried loading up your older map and saving as something else again and does it repeat the same message? Or is it just on the copy of the map you made?

This happened to me. I reset everything, unplugged and everything and it worked when I loaded it back up.

thanks for your reply. iv tried this, loaded the map, tried to save map as… (new file) but it’ll just say save failed

I think Larry might have the answer. Force Shutdown the console and unplug the internet and then wait a few minutes and then come back and then load everything back up again and see if that does anything for you.

I’ve often found that my maps still load when stuck on retrieving data.
But usually force closing Halo 5 (Xbox Menu > Press Start on Halo 5 > Stop Game (or something, I don’t remember exactly what it is)) works to get it to grab the data for me.
